Angie slipped her phone into her purse when she saw the girls coming over. The first thing she noticed was Erica’s state. “Are you okay?” She asked fearfully, touching her shoulder. She knew she shouldn’t have left them like that, but one minute longer with that man and the nice people of The Pine Valley Yacht Club would’ve had to resort to calling PVPD. She was just that close to harming that man. And this is exactly what she told them. “And I just bet Jesse would have been the one to answer the call.”
“But trust me Dix, my hands were itching to go a couple of rounds with him. Just itching!”
Looking back over to Erica. “Are you okay now? Do I need to get you anything? I knew I should have made you stay home when you called and told me about that note. You shouldn’t have had to come out here to deal with him. The very last thing you need is to be in any amount of stress.”

Erica nodded. "I'm okay... I just... you know, it's one thing for him to tell me how I haven't been the best mother to my kids, but for him to stand there & act like he's God? Or for him to hurt either of you," she explained, looking to both Angie & Dixie, "that's not okay with me. He had no right to say anything to JR, & he had no right to use Frankie to make you feel like a bad person," she finished, getting a little frustrated.
"I know it's not a good idea to be around David right now, & Dixie is right... I should have walked away like you did, Angie. I shouldn't let him get to me, but he does," she admitted, sitting down at the table, wondering what it was about David Hayward that had everybody at their worst when he was around.

When Angie said she was itching to go after David, Dixie couldn't help smirking knowing it was true. "Yeah I had a feeling." She smiled, but went solemn and looked at Erica nervously. Hoping she was alright, but seeing that David had indeed gotten under her skin. "He got to all of us, hon. That's how he operates..he just, finds your weakness and uses it to drag you down to his level." Dixie sighed sheepishly. Knowing she'd been dragged to David's level too many times. Letting herself be manipulated into loving or trusting him, and then acting out when he hurt her. It was a vicious cycle that started the first time they'd kissed, and all this time later was still coming back to haunt her. "It's when you don't stay there that he turns on you. When you turn to your loved ones instead of him, and he realizes he doesn't have that in his life. I think that's what drives him more than anything..his being jealous and desperate for something he knows he doesn't have. Since he can't be happy apparently we can't be either." She shrugged. "I couldn't care less about me though. He can insult me from here to next week and I won't bat an eye. It's his attacking J.R, scaring Kathy, hurting Tad. I can't handle that. Hopefully, he really is so disillusioned with my family he's lost interest."

Angie nodded along with Erica and later along with Dixie when she spoke about David using his old tactics to get what he wanted. “She’s right… His pleasure is to see us give into him, fall under his sick and twisted ways,” she added. “And now that we know this, seen him get to each of us we know what needs to be done. We have to continue to ignore him. Show him that no matter what he does or says he can’t and won’t get to us. Show him that just because we’re women we aren’t weak. We are just as strong and as stubborn as he is,” she reminded. “Next time he tries something you just keep your head up, keep your expression neutral and let his words go in one ear and out the other. I know, it won’t be easy because has that tendency to like you say, get under the skin, but it’s what you have to do.” She sighed. “If he even thinks about harming anybody in our family, he has another thing coming. That’s a promise… He hurt my family, he’s hurting me and I don’t even have to go into details of what kind of pain he’s in for if that happens… I hate violence, but I’m not above protecting what’s mine. That’s for sure.”

Erica took in what her friends were saying & nodded. "I'll... I'll just have to do it. I'll have to ignore him..." she shook her head, hoping that she had the strength to do so, like Dixie & Angie did.
She then put her hand on Angie's. "He won't lay a finger on your family, Angie. Don't think I would hesitate to help you hide the body," she gave her a gentle smile, half kidding about her remark. Honestly, though, she knew Angie was so much better than David & wouldn't stoop to his level. She, on the other hand, might. If he did anything to any of her children, she would kill him. How many times did she come close to taking his life before? Clearly, she didn't have a problem becoming a mama bear when necessary.
