“So long as he cant hurt anyone again, then I’m not afraid,” Kathy confirmed with a small nod of her head. She was relieved to learn it wasn’t David who had done the bad things to their family although that didn’t mean she was going to forgive him for upsetting her mom a few weeks back. He was mean, that much she knew from his time spent taking Krystal away. As her mom spoke about how Kathy was unable to make either Julia or her dad sad, she gave a small smile and nodded, now eager to hear the funny story.
“Who was the someone else?” she asked quietly, once again clinging to her moms every word as the story started. “You got lost? Daddy never asks for directions, he pretends to know where he’s going.” She giggled over the thought and then her smile grew as she was told there had been a surprise picnic planned for her mom. “Did daddy make all the food himself?” She was about to ask another question when her mom explained that a bull had walked up to their car and Kathy gave a little squeal of surprise and a gasp, putting her hand to her lips before bursting into a fit of giggles.
“You named him Ferdinand?” she laughed before a grin grew. “That’s the best name ever for a bull!” She was quiet once more as her mom continued with the story, telling her what her dad had done to try and get it to go away by feeding it and then gasping as she was told Ferdinand followed her dad. “Did daddy have to run away? Because bulls can move very fast.” She’d seen it on the TV when she’d watched bull fighting with her Uncle Jake. Suddenly her face scrunched up in almost disgust and confusion as her mom explained that when her dad had gotten back in the car he was all yucky, but it faded quickly and was replaced by a fit giggles, a smile and laughter.
“Ferdinand kissed daddy?!” she laughed loudly and nearly fell over from all the giggles. “The bull was jealous of you mommy! It must have been, that’s why it left.” She grinned up at her mom and laughed some more. “That’s a really good story! One of the best!” As she was going to ask for another one when she began to yawn and her eyes drooped a little. “I’m not tired mommy, I swear.” But she couldn’t help the yawn that came again, and this time she did look really tired.

Seeing Kathy break into a full on giggle fit, Dixie couldn't help giggling herself. Her laughter faded though when she saw Kathy's eyes droop and then heard the yawn that followed. Her baby girl was clearly tired but doing her best to pretend she wasn't. Same way J.R would when he was that age, and the same way that Tad would now if he was half asleep during a movie. "Oh yeah? Well...we'll just see about that when you're all snug and comfy with your chicken under a nice warm blanket.", she hinted, but Kathy promptly shook her head. Looking exactly like her brother and dad would. "Alright I'll tell you what, you go and get your PJ's on..and I'll go downstairs and put on a movie we can watch til you get super crazy tired on me. We got a deal?" Dixie asked. It was still a bit before Kathy's bedtime but rather than putting her in bed pouty and still somewhat awake, she figured a movie would calm her down and get her in bed later without a fight.

“No, I wont be sleepy even in my pyjamas, under a blanket and with my chicken,” Kathy promptly told her mom, shaking her head. “Because I’m not tired.” She tried to fight back another yawn, her arms crossed and couldn’t, the yawn happened and she tried not to look defeated. She listened to her moms offer before giving it some thought and slowly nodding in agreement with a small smile.
“Deal!” she exclaimed, and with new found energy she leaned her broom up against a bookcase and headed down the steps of the attic. She was in her room in a flash, getting changed quickly and grabbing her chicken. Before she left her room she looked back and decided to grab her big blanket so they could snuggle up under it while they watched the movie on the couch together. Once she had it, she was off running back downstairs and into the TV room.
“What are we going to watch?” she asked curiously as she took a seat on the couch, looking towards her mom. “Are we watching a Disney movie?” She draped the blanket around her and left as much room as she could for her mom to join in beside her, and once again was fighting another yawn.

"Okay fine, if you insist.", smirked Dixie. She knew Kathy was tired but knew better than to argue with her. Even she was no match for her and Tad's combined stubbornness in their little girl, and was glad she'd come up with the backup plan of the movie. No doubt Kathy would be asleep before the halfway point.
Going to the TV room she found their DVD of The Little Mermaid, and just got it in the player before Kathy entered the room, chicken and blanket in hand. "Yeah. Little Mermaid. That okay?", asked Dixie. Curling up under the blanket with the remote she started the movie, and smiled catching Kathy's yawn. "That's a big yawn for someone who isn't the tiniest bit tired.", she teased. But once she got comfy she found her eyes getting heavy too. Not that she'd let Kathy know though.

“Yes! I love The Little Mermaid!” Kathy exclaimed with a huge nod of her head as she watched her mom get comfortable under the blanket. She tried again to fight off a yawn, and lost as it happened, her eyes trying to look at the TV, hoping her mom hadn’t seen. But it was too late and she blushed at her moms comment over it, and crossed her arms, hugging her chicken in the middle.
“It was a little yawn, mommy,” she informed her with a shake of her head. “Very tiny.” She got cozy next to her mom and put her head against her moms shoulder, watching as the movie played out. “I don’t like the scary octopus lady, Ursula, in this movie, she’s not nice to Ariel.” She made a face as the bad guy appeared on screen and hugged her mom tighter, her eyes slowly drooping shut... OOC: Up to you if you want to finish the thread here or not!
