Sitting towards the front of the bus, listening to all the chatter coming from the seats behind her, Di was feeling pretty pleased with herself. Tired of organizing charity balls and auctions to benefit PVPD, she put the idea out there for a ski trip. A portion of all the money people would spend on transport, food and accommodations at the ski lodge and on the slopes, would go towards the station. After putting word out she got a lot of interest from family and friends, and now the trip was on.
The ski lodge was a good distance outside the city limits, and they had to drive up a winding woodsy path through the mountains. Traffic had been minimal and they were making good time, if all went according to plan they'd arrive tomorrow morning. Something Di was glad about. The storage compartment and racks above the seats were packed with ski gear and luggage and most every seat in the bus was filled. It was a tad cramped and she couldn't wait to get off the bus and onto the slopes.
Looking across the way she saw Dixie was in the aisle seat and Kathy was looking out the window. And Frankie was sitting a few rows back with Adrian at his side, and Madison nearby. Relieved they had at least two people employed by PVH on the trip, just in case of some kind of emergency, Di glanced outside from her window seat. They were driving up a fairly steep incline, and a guard rail was all that was separating them from a ravine on their left side. Peering into it she could see lots of trees and rocks, coated in snow that was gently falling from the clear night sky. Glad that they'd have plenty of powder for skiing tomorrow, she smiled, stretched and sat back. It was shaping up to be a nice trip...
(OOC: Alright this thread is a go! ;D If anyone would like to make their presence known/get into some small talk on the bus before the real drama starts..feel free!)

Colby had never been skiing but was excited about the trip, even encouraging Jamie to tag along with her. “Have you ever been skiing?” she asked her seat companion, which just happened to be Jamie. “I’ve never tried it, but I’m willing to learn, if I had a good teacher.” She blushed as she said that, knowing she shouldn’t have asked, given how her love life was pretty much down the drain – literally. Gulping, she looked around at all the passengers on the bus, trying to focus on something other than the handsome doctor next to her. She soon felt the soft touch of his hand folding over the one that trembled as she jostled her knee up and down, and felt her breath hitch at the electrical current that ran through her.

Lily had decided she would come on the ski trip with the others. She had become friends with Kathy, and knew Kathy was going to be there which helped convince her. Also, skiing was a sport that didn't require contact with other people so she thought it would be something she could handle. In addition she could look at it like a physics equation, taking angles and velocities into consideration. As she sat on the bus, she quietly read a book about the basics of skiing.

Kathy had been excited all week for this event, counting the days down on her calendar and going shopping for skis with AJ and Aunt Marissa and her mom. She’d even practiced skiing in the background a few times and built a little ramp in the snow.
When it came time to board the bus and say goodbye to her dad, brother and sister, she was too eager to wait for them to tell her she could get on before she was dashing up the steps and into a window seat. She’d waved to them out the window and sat bouncing her seat until her mom came to sit beside her and they were all on their way.
For a long time Kathy just stared out the window at the passing trees and winding roads, her nose pressed against the glass and hand brushing away the fog that threatened to block her view. When she finally tore her eyes away she was looking around at the familiar faces. She could see AJ and Marissa, Colby and Jamie, Lily and a few other people she didn’t recognize, and when she turned her attention back to her mom she grinned.
“How much longer until we get there mommy?” she asked excitedly. “Are we close?” She reached her hand up and gently touched the star and moon necklace that hung around her neck. She’d managed to pay her mom for it with all the chores she’d done over thanksgiving and the holidays, and had asked if she could wear it on the bus, for the special ride. Along with the necklace she’d made sure to put on the star bracelet she’d been given, with the promise to take both off once they were on the slopes. OOC: It wasn’t mentioned in the first post, but I believe AJ is there as well, right?

Seated with her legs crossed in the aisle seat, Dixie thumbed through her magazine, looking up every so often at Kathy who was eagerly looking out the window. Her clear excitement brought a smile to Dixie's face. This trip couldn't have been timed any better. With J.R's suffering just amplifying at home, and the Babe and David drama, she needed a breather and knew her daughter needed it just as much. Tad was more than supportive of the whole thing, and even though Dixie wished selfishly he could have come along with her, she felt better about leaving the twins with their dad, and J.R with someone who would be there in a flash if God forbid something happened.
Wondering when they'd be off this mountain path so her cell would cooperate and let her call home, Dixie looked at her watch trying to guestimate how longer they'd be. But her thoughts were interrupted at her little girl's voice. "I was just wondering the same thing, sunshine.", she chuckled. "Uh, Di?" "Yeah?" "What's our ETA, you have any idea?" "Um...", Frowning, Di checked her watch and then the small map on the lodge brochure. Trying to figure it out for herself so as not to disturb the driver. Knowing the roads up here were a bit slick and in the dark he needed all the concentration he could get. "Not sure exactly Dix. Probably on the early side tomorrow?" "Oh okay, thanks." "Getting antsy?", Di smirked.
"Nope, we're holding up fine." Dixie assured, smoothing Kathy's hair before glancing behind her. Hoping to catch a glimpse of her grandson but having a hard time. Figuring he was just at the back of the bus, she looked over at Adrian who was seated closer and gave the boy a smile. "How about you kiddo?", she asked curiously, seeing Frankie was sleeping soundly, and snoring. "I'd be better without the buzz saw.", he grumbled, nodding to his brother before sighing exasperatedly at Madison.
"Yeah I think the same goes for all of us.", Dixie smirked. His snoring was loud and she didn't doubt it would just get louder. Flipping to the last part of the magazine she let out a small yawn, but was forcing herself to read a little more and get her eyes a little heavier before trying to catnap herself.

This is the exact thing that Jamie needed. A little vacation to get away and have some fun with his family and friends. Listening to Colby talk is like music to his ears, but he really wouldn't mention that out loud. "Well I am not very good at skiing either, so I guess you and I will have to learn together."
How hard could it be really? I am sure they will find out pretty quickly that things are more difficult than they seem. "Seems like we aren't the only one's that are anxious." He says as he touches her lightly before motioning over to Kathy. He didn't know what that little touch did to her, but if he knew, what would Jamie do about it? What would J.R. think about it?

Kathy laced her fingers together as her mom spoke, looking between Di and her mom when they started talking. She didn’t know how far away they were, but when she heard Di mention early tomorrow would be their arrival she gave a small pout but nodded in understanding. She’d been forewarned that it would take a while to get to the lodge, but it didn’t make the trip less exciting for the adventure and fun of skiing.
“We’re perfectly fine, Aunty Di,” Kathy agreed with her mom, giving her aunt the thumbs up. She felt her moms hand smoothing back her hair and looked up with a smile. It wasn’t until her mom started talking to Adrian, did Kathy hear the snoring for the first time and made a face, glancing around until she spotted Frankie asleep.
“Does he always snore like that?” she asked Adrian, before agreeing with her mom about how loud it was. “It kind of sounds like daddy when he’s asleep.” She settled back into her seat and glanced down at the magazine her mom was reading until she heard her mom yawn and looked back up and tried to stifle her own. “Are you tired mommy?” She snuggled up close to her mom and put her head gently against her arm, looking back down at the book before admitting; “I’m kind of tired too.”

Being attracted to Jamie in a manner other than brotherly was very, very dangerous, considering that JR was the brother they shared. “Oh. I figured that you were athletic, but that sounds great, Jamie,” Colby responded to his comment about not being very good at skiing. “I don’t really look anxious, do I?” she asked with a half-smile.

Marissa who set directly behind dixie along with AJ who was setting next to her. Listened to the conversation and smiled abit glad that everyone was having fun. She looks over towards AJ who was busy talking to Kathy and the rest of the kids on the trip. She then looks over towards Dixie hearing that she seems abit nervous. She leans forward and rests her arms on the back of the seat as she speaks.
"Your not nervous are you Dixie? This trip is meant for all of us to relax and have fun. Sure I wish JR could of came along but I'm sure AJ will tell him all about the trip when we get back. Is that right hun."
AJ quickly nods his head before he leans against her and she puts her arm around him keeping him close. She places a kiss on his forhead before she begins to speak.
"Anyone want to sing a song it would help relax everyone on the bus... What about Hallelujah its a really pretty song and I'm sure everyone knows how it goes... I can start if off if you want I know I dont have any music so bare with me guys."
Marissa laughs a little bit and soon enough shocking everyone at how beautiful her voice is Marissa begins to sing her voice as beautiful as the angels above.
"I've heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? It goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah"
She motions for everyone to join in and soon enough the bus is filled with the beautiful voices everyone now feeling more relaxed.
"Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah"
Everyone continues to sing feeling completly at ease not knowing that several miles up the road tragedy would strike. But for now everyone couldn't wait to get to the ski lodge and even dixie was singing along so that made Marissa smile.

Never having the pleasure to ski, Madison was overjoyed to be going on this trip. And even more so excited because two of her special guys were with her. As the bus journeyed to their destination, Madison listened to all of the talk happening around her but hadn’t really paid too much attention until she heard Adrian. When she glanced up and saw him looking at her and rolling his eyes at his soundly, sleeping big brother, she chuckled. She knew better than anyone about Frankie's snoring. She tried to get him to go see somebody about but he said there was no point. His mother had him checked out years ago and the doctor said it was nothing. Frankie then told her that his father snored just the same. Madison concluded it was hereditary. And how Mrs. Hubbard got any sleep was beyond her.
“Come over here,” she gestured, making room on her seat for Adrian “Thank you,” he simply said, going into her arms. “Are you nervous like everybody else?” He quietly asked. Slightly shrugging, she replied. “Not so much as nervous, just anxious. I’ve always wanted to try it.” “You’ve never done it?” He asked shockingly. “Nope. My parents always traveled to snow lodges, but I was never allowed to really participate in a lot of the activities that involved me breaking a nail or something,” she smirked at the many memories. “That’s not good,” he replied, shaking his head. Coming from her trance, Madison looked back down. “You’re right. It’s not… Are you nervous?” She asked turning the spotlight on him. “A little bit. When I told Cassie where I was going she told me to not be scared, that it was easy and she bet I’ll be a pro.” “You know what I agree with her. You’re a pro at a lot of things. You won't have too much of a problem with this.” “You think?” Nodding, she gave him a little squeeze. “Nope… I actually know you won’t have much a problem with this.” She gave him a wink and before she could say anything else, somebody up front started to sing. Looking up she saw it was Marissa. “What is she singing?” Adrian whispered when suddenly everybody broke out and started singing. He jumped a bit and frowned. This was all new to him. Madison chuckled at his expression. "Relax. It’s a song called Hallelujah. It’s pretty nice.” “I'm good,” he mumbled, looking around. "Right," she said, chuckling some more and laying her head back against the seat.

At Kathy's comparing Frankie to Tad, Dixie smiled and tugged a bit at her star. "Yeah kinda, it only gets loud as Frankie though when your dad's got a real bad cold.", she said. Not wanting to admit that likely the bulk of the snoring Kathy heard came from her and not her husband. Tad once told her she scared animals at night, and she didn't doubt him.
For one reason or another though Dixie couldn't get her mind off him or J.R and the twins. They hadn't even started the trip yet and already she was missing her family members that weren't present something fierce. This couldn't be a good sign. Hoping though the homesickness would pass, she looked down at Kathy now cuddled beside her and smiled. More than grateful that she had her little girl with her for company. "Eh, I'm getting there.", she answered. But wanted to wait til Kathy was asleep before calling it a night. "Yeah I thought so..go on and close your eyes though, baby. It's okay." Hearing Marissa's suggestion, and then her starting to sing from her seat, Dixie smiled and joined in. And humming the rest of the song after the other voices died down, she gently stroked Kathy's hair in hopes the combination would get her drifting off completely.

Thanks to being night-shifted most of the week at the hospital, Frankie had been out like a light the bulk of the bus ride. He felt bad and knew he owed Adrian a hell of a good time on the slopes to make up for his fatigue now. And Madison double that for having to listen to his snores. He was really looking forward to this trip. It had been a long time since he'd skied but even so, he was excited to teach his girlfriend and kid brother what he knew. The singing on the bus seemed to have worked it's magic on a lot of people, but on Frankie it had the opposite effect, and cracking his eyes open he yawned and stretched. Immediately he noticed though Adrian wasn't in his original spot, but looked across the way and saw him in Madison's arms. Getting him smiling. He loved the way the two of them had gotten close, and hoped that it would push closeness between Mads and his mother too. Things were improved between them but Frankie knew things could be terrific between the two women that he loved if they wanted it to be. Not that he was gonna try and force things, even he knew that would be a mistake.
Softly he cleared this throat in Madison's direction and gave her a winning smile. "Hey..", he mouthed softly towards her, seeing Adrian was basically out like a light and not wanting to disturb him, or Kathy who Dixie was trying to soothe. "I love you..", he whispered ever so softly, only wanting to communicate that to one woman on this bus, and hoping she heard him.

Kathy had fallen quiet as she cuddled against her mom, watching her curiously as she almost seemed to be distracted by something. A stir of worry began to grow in her stomach, and she wondered what her mom was thinking about. Getting ready to ask her, she was stopped when her mom started to answer her earlier question.
“You’ll sleep soon, though, right?” she asked with another yawn, her eyes beginning to droop. The sound of Marissa’s singing and then her moms soothed her and calmed the worrying feeling she’d felt earlier. When it grew quiet on the bus and the song was over, Kathy smiled tiredly as her mom stroked her hair and soon she was drifting off to sleep...

OOC: Here it comes everyone what better way for a accident when everyone least expects it.
While AJ was snuggled up next to Marissa and obviously fallen asleep. Marissa had taken the oppurtunity to call JR and see what he was doing. The two were chatting happily while she rested her head against the bus window gazing, she brushes her hair from her face before she begins to speak in a soft voice.
"I really wish you could of came along JR, everything is so beautiful here in the mountains. And dont worry, AJ is resting comfortably next to me so thats a good thing..."
Marissa listens intently to JR obviously you could tell he had been drinking a litle bit but he was still sober enough to know who he was talking to. Marissa continues to stare out the window, when he finishes on his end she smiles and begins to speak.
"We will take care of our selves JR I promise, but I need you to do something for me. Please take care of yourself until me and AJ get home alright handsome..."
Marissa continues to smile as she listened to things JR had to say... She wished she could be there with him wrapped in his arms while they snuggle up infront of the fire place. But she new she had promised AJ they would go on the ski trip, even though she hadn't been skiing in so long. But soon enough Marissa notices something up ahead and her eyes get wide as the bus driver speaks...
"Oh God"
He soon enough slams on the breaks and the bus begins to jerk and bounce on the snow packed icy road. Marissa was totally frozen until the screams begin to echo through the bus so she said the only three words she could before she grabbed AJ to hold on for dear life.
"I love you JR...."
And with that said the screams arose she could hear JR calling her name but she ended up dropping her phone causing the line to go dead. She felt the bus driver let off the break before he hits it once more, she heard the bus colide with metal before the bus begin to turn over and over against dropping down to the revene below while the passangers were being tossed all over the bus and there screams and glass breaking can be heard in the silent night.
Montage
Soon enough after the dust had settled and the night had cleared, we pan over the scene to see bodies spread out over the snow revene. Marissa was laying on her stomach with her head turned to the side, her arm was behind her back laying at a un natural angle and there were cuts and bruses on her face. AJ lay a few feet away on his back while various others were spread out all over the place.... One could only wonder if everyone was alive and how would they be found or would they ever be found.

When the bus started swerving and bumping up and down the road, Colby felt like reaching for Jamie’s hand but refrained from it. She thought of her brother, her nephew A.J. who was up a few rows with Marissa and, of course, Mom. Colby began to pray before everything went black. When she finally opened her eyes again, Colby reached up and pressed one hand to the side of her head. It was shaking when she took it away, and she wanted to scream aloud when she saw the blood. “Oh…oh, God,” Colby could only moan out. Then she thought about Jamie, and where he might be. When she attempted to get up, Colby gasped, realizing she couldn’t. Looking down, she saw that her leg was pinned under some pretty heavy metal from the bus.
Tears sprang to her eyes at the pain, and Colby chose to just look around for Jamie instead of trying to get up again. “Jamie? Where are you?” the blonde called out.
