There were no words to describe just how wonderful Angie was feeling as she laid in Jesse’s arms in the afterglow of their very, very intense and passionate love making. “Hmmm,” Angie moaned happily as she planted a kiss onto Jesse’s chest. “I love you so much,” she sighed.
Earlier that day they saw Adrian off on a ski trip that’d been planned by Di and one that he begged and begged to go on. At first Angie was skeptical about letting him go, especially since she nor Jesse had really planned on going. Angie hadn’t planned on it because throughout the whole month of December she’d been away from home and wanted nothing more than to just relax and catch up on some much needed rest. Jesse didn’t go because…Well Jesse never really said why he didn’t want to go. She just assumed it was because a lot of his officers went on the trip and the station couldn’t spare anybody else. Anyway, during the days leading up to the trip Angie remained skeptical about him going, even when Frankie came to her and asked if Adrian could tag along with him. He promised he would take good care of him and everything, Angie didn’t once believe her oldest wasn’t capable of taking care of his little brother, but because she knew Madison was also going she wasn’t sure how things were going to go. After much pleading from both of her sons and a little convincing from her husband who said it would be alright and it would do Adrian some good to try something new, she finally let up. But not without making Frankie promise to keep a close eye on Adrian and if anything happened he was to call her immediately. And then right after that talk with her oldest, she went to Adrian and made him promise to be on his best behavior and do everything Frankie told him to do.
“Momma, I’m going be good. Really, really, really good, I promise!” He said to her just night before. Angie sighed and nodded. “Okay then… I guess you can go,” she finally said. “Thank you!” He yelped, going into her arms.
Anyway, after they saw everybody off Angie got a call from Grace who invited them over to grab a bite to eat. Seeing as it had been weeks since they saw their old friend they saw problem and soon after they were making that two and half hour drive out to see her. By the end of the evening Grace had talked the duo into leaving Ari with her for a few days. Said they needed some time to relax. Not so much as skeptical but worried that Ari would be a handful for the older woman, Angie agreed.
Now here she was, home alone with her husband lying on the carpeted floor of their living room, in front of a roaring fireplace. Other than the soft R&B love songs coming from the sound system, nothing but the fire popping could be heard. “What got into you tonight, Mr. Hubbard?” She asked, picking her head up to stare into his eyes.

Jesse chuckled and pulled his wife to lie on top of him. “Just showing my beautiful wife how much I’ve missed her.” He whispered pushing her hair to the side and leaning forward to kiss her neck.
Jesse could count on one hand how many times he’d been in this position with his wife in the past month maybe 2. Sometime in November she went out of town to handle business at one of her best friend’s private practice and when she came back they were both thrust into the action of Thanksgiving and Christmas. There wasn’t a day that went by they weren’t busy shopping, putting the house together or working and keeping up with the kids and that wasn’t even close to the end of their story to why they hadn’t been together.
“You know I’ve missed you right?” He asked now turning her onto her back and settling on top of her. Jesse would say it over and over again if he had to. He missed him some Angela. Just as he went down and planted kisses on her stomach he heard an unmistakable sound. "You hungry?" He teased. He was probably just as hungry as she was. Right they had a quite a bit to eat when they were at Grace's, but that was many hours and workouts earlier

“Oh really,” Angie giggled and then sighed passionately as Jesse started to tease her by nibbling on her neck. She was so swept up the passion that she hadn’t realized the move Jesse made until her back gently hit the carpet. Opening her eyes, she looked up and blushed. “I don’t think you’ve fully convinced me of that yet,” she teased, pulling his head down and kissing him before letting him journey down to her stomach only to giggle when it growled and Jesse came back into view. “Hi,” she said softly giving him a little wave before bursting into laughter.
Once her laughter died down she shrugged. “What gave it away?” She teased. “Baby to be honest, we burned off dinner a couple of hours ago,” she reminded, pushing herself up. “How about we go shower up and grab something to eat. Then we can have that movie marathon we were talking about earlier,” she offered in a sing song voice as she jumped up and headed toward the staircase. “Last one to the shower is a sore loser!” She called, taking one of Adrian’s saying when he felt like making his parents race.
After throwing on Jesse's discarded shirt, Angie turned to sprint up the stairs only to be swept off her feet. Giggling and laughing like a school girl she tightened her grasp around Jesse’s neck. “You don’t play fair.” Those were the last words she spoke as Jesse entered their master bathroom.
Sometime later… Maybe another hour or so, they emerged laughing and holding hands. Moments later they made it downstairs and into the kitchen, while Jesse went to the fridge, Angie eased onto the barstool and stared at his bare back. He wore a pair of his sweats and she wore one of his shirts. “What do we have, Chief Hubbard?”

“What don’t we have?” He asked looking over his shoulder and making a face. They went to the grocery store the day before and stocked the refrigerator with just about everything under the sun. Not only did Jesse eat a lot, but Adrian was starting to eat more and so was Ari. It wasn’t anything out of hand but they definitely didn’t miss a meal. “Let’s see.. How about.. We have breakfast?” He suggested turning to grab a few things. “It is after midnight and the last time I checked there was no written rule saying we had to wait until daybreak to have breakfast.”
After he grabbed everything he needed Jesse started to prepare a meal and not long after Angie joined him. Because both of them were on the task breakfast was done within minutes and soon after they were sitting in front of the TV in the living room. “First movie of the night.. Drumroll please.” He gave a mock sound of a drumroll and snatched a movie from the holder. “Contagion!”
Grabbing the remote control and moving back to sit next to his wife, Jesse pressed play and let the action begin. “I’m shocked Adrian or Frankie hasn’t called yet. You know how Adrian gets if you’re away from each other for too long.”

The minute Jesse mentioned Adrian and him not calling, Angie raised her head and looked towards her phone. If she knew her son and she knew him well, he would have called her at least three times by now. Once to let them know how far away they were the second one to ask her if she was alright and the third one to tell her he missed her and he should have stayed at home with her or wished she would have tagged along. “Yea, that’s weird,” she muttered, placing her fork back down on her plate and coming to her feet. She then headed over to where her phone laid and pulled it out to check for missed called, texts, anything. There was not one thing from Adrian or Frankie. Hell not even Dixie or Di. “Maybe… Maybe they called your phone,” she said, not really speaking to him just talking. Moments later she fished Jesse’s phone from the bowl near the door and checked, when nothing popped up she put it down and turned to head back into the living room.
“Should I be… You know should I be worried that they haven’t called yet?” She asked, giving him a look. “I mean when I was away before he called me at least three times a day and… and…” She plopped down on the sofa and started running her fingers through her hair. When Jesse said nothing back she chuckled. “I’m overreacting, go ahead and say it.” Angie always had a tendency to over think things, overact at any given moment. It was a flaw of hers that she tried like hell to get past. “You know what, I’ll just call Frankie and check in. That’s all. See if everything alright and so on and so forth,” she rambled picking her phone up from the coffee table and dialing out.
Though before the phone call went through good Angie found herself clutching her heart and squeezing her eyes shut. Breathing didn’t come as easy as it should have, but when it did it hurt like hell.

“What are you doing?” He asked looking from his plate as she walked out of the room and soon came back with a somber look on her face. He went to ask her again if everything was alright when she asked about the kids. “Angie.” He smirked reaching over and rubbing her back. “If anything was wrong they would have called. There are more than a dozen people on that trip and there’s quite a few cops as well. Trust me, if there was anything going on especially with Adrian and Frankie my guys would be blowing up my phone.” He tried to assure her and saw it hadn’t worked when she reached for her phone again and started rambling.
Jesse raised his hand to let her know he was backing off. “Ok baby. But I guarantee you everything is al—“ He was cut completely off when Angie doubled over and sounded as if she was gasping for air. “Angela? Baby, what is it? Talk to me, what’s wrong?” He asked going to the floor and kneeling in front of her. When her eyes flipped open he pulled his head back and frowned, her eyes were laced with fear and tears. “Angela.. Baby I was just.. Ok, we can call and check. Ok. It’s ok.” He assured, grabbing her phone from the floor and going to dial Frankie’s number only to hear the doorbell ring and somebody impatiently bang on the door. “Who the hell is that?” He grumbled standing up and throwing on the shirt he brought down stairs with him earlier. “I’ll be right back.” He kissed her forehead and soon after went to get the door. “What the hell is your pro.. What the hell?” He asked in disbelief. “What the hell are you doing here? Do you know what time it is?”

The minute the pain struck Angie knew better than to hold onto Jesse’s every word. The pain she was feeling was one only a mother could feel when their children were in danger or in pain and in need of her help or arms. “No… No it’s not,” she cried, shaking her head as her husband tried to assure her everything would be alright and that the kids were fine. “They’re not okay. I’m telling you,” she mumbled just as the doorbell rang and not even a full second later the person started to bang on the door. When Jesse left to check and see who it was, Angie jumped up from the couch and went to the laundry room where she started to get dressed.
Elsewhere
With Tara laying all kinds of ways across his stomach and Nolan tucked in his arms, Tad had been out like a light and dreaming of… Well hell he was dreaming about a lot. Anyway, as he was sleeping, peacefully, somewhere in the distance he heard something knocking against something else. Groaning and praying for it to stop he turned his head to the other side and tried to settle back in, only seconds later the knocking became harder and more impatient and whoever was the reason for the knocking had started to call his name.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” he groaned, opening his eyes and looking toward the clock which made him groan more and mentally curse whoever the person was. “Noooo,” Tara whimpered and clutched onto his arm when he started to move. Tad kissed the hand that been on his lips and eased her to the side. “I’ll be right back,” he whispered, making sure not to further disturb her and not wake up Nolan who was sleeping just as hard as he’d been. When he walked out to living room the voice was unmistakable and because of that he snatched the door opened. “JR, what are you doing?” He asked trying to get a good look at him. “Are you… are you drunk?” He asked and then quickly pulled him inside, only to hear about a phone call he received from Marissa and how he heard screaming and crashing and… It was just a lot that he heard and because of his current state Tad, hated to even think this, but he had a feeling he wasn’t being truthful. “Alright, calm down. Let me call Dixie. There might have been some misunderstanding or something.” With that being said he went back to the bedroom to retrieve his phone and as he was walking out saw he had a message from Dixie.
"Hey baby it's me. I know it's late but, I couldn't sleep. This bus isn't exactly comfortable and, I really wish I was curled up with you tonight. I miss you so much. Kathy's doing fine though, sleeping like a log and, she couldn't be happier to watch me make a fool of myself on the slopes tomorrow. Agh..remind me why I signed up for this again?", she chuckled lightly. "But..I just wanted to call and hear your voice and see how my babies are, remind them not to give their Daddy a tough time. Also if you can Tad, look in on J.R for me? I just want to know that he's, doing alright, you know? As alright as he can be anyways. Ugh, I know..I'm rambling but..it's just nerves I guess. Something about this..feels off all of a sudden. Hopefully tomorrow it'll be better. Tell the twins and J.R I love them and, I love you too Tad. Together for---OH GOD!!"
Tad’s heart started to beat like crazy as he heard Dixie cry out and then the line went dead. “Oh crap,” he breathed, running out of the hall and looking over at JR. “Stay right there!” He ordered before running out the front door and going to the neighbors who Dixie often asked to babysit the twins when she had to step out for a minute or something. After apologizing for interrupting their sleep and all but begging them to watch the twins and getting an okay, Tad and the woman went back. He ran down everything to her and within minutes of getting this disturbing news he and JR were heading out of the door.
There were no words that could describe the kind of pain he was feeling to know that his wife and his child, hell everybody was on that bus and possibly… “No, I can’t think that. I cannot think that,” he repeated, finally coming to a stop at Jesse and Angie’s house. Seeing as this was a trip that the officers came up with he was sure Jesse knew more about what was happening and could provide some kind of relief for he and a grief stricken JR.
“Jesse!” He yelled, banging on the door and soon when the door swung open he took a deep breath and started to explain everything to him. Told him about the call JR received and even let him hear the message Dixie left him. “I tried calling Dixie back, Di, I even tried Kathy’s phone,” he added. “They went straight to voicemail each time… Please tell me you got a call from one of your guys. Frankie,” he begged now pacing the foyer.
In that moment Angie rushed in and within passing one look over the three men she knew the feeling in her chest was all about that damn trip. “What happened?” She asked softly, looking for Jesse, to JR, to Tad who sighed. She caught his meaning and gave a sigh of her own. “I knew it. I knew I shouldn’t have let Adrian, Frankie or Madison go on that damn trip! As a matter of fact nobody should have gone on that damn trip.”

"I shouldn't have let Marissa and AJ go. I should've had them stay here...." JR said before shaking his head, he knew they had both wanted to go, but because of his health, and his drinking, he had stayed behind. "I should've been with them...I could've made sure they were safe..."
"My pilot's on standby...if we find out where they are, we can get there faster...." JR said, muffling a cough that was building in his chest. It had been getting worse, but he knew he couldn't pay attention to that now. His son, mother, sister, and girlfriend were all in trouble."
"What can we do?" He asked Jesse and Tad. "Can we trace their phones? Is there someone I can call....anything we need I can get" JR said, knowing he'd use all the Chandler resources he had to try to help his family. He only hoped it wasn't too late to help them all.

Jesse’s head was already spinning with worry about his wife who was starting to assume the worst had happened and it tripled when Tad and JR came in saying the same thing. Only they had proof that something happened and after hearing the voicemail Dixie left for Tad once more he turned away from the 3people standing in front of him looking for answers. “Let me.. Let me call the guys down at the station and have them start tracing all the phones. I’m gonna also have them put the towns they had to go through on notice.” He called off before walking out of the room. It took Jesse’s mind a minute to really understand that this was real. His boys and Madison were on that trip. His friends, some of his guys.. Innocent people were on that trip and now this. Knowing that time was ticking away and they were still unaware of the bus’s whereabouts, Jesse quickly shifted into Chief mode and put his sole focus on finding everybody and getting to them as soon as possible.
“What’s up Chief?” Perry asked after picking up on the third ring. “I need you to go into my office and get that list off my desk. The list that has all the people attending this trip.” “What’s up? Everything alright?” Jesse sighed and glanced over his shoulder. “There’s been an accident. I need you to track each phone on that list and have another guy put the towns nearing the destination on notice.” “How do you know?” Perry asked curiously. “Perry we don’t have any more time for questions. Just do as I say, I’ll be through there soon.” “Alright.” “Also I need you to round up some guys. Get together a search team, whatever kind of team just get them together.” “Yes sir. Right away!”
Jesse finally hung up the phone and headed back to the trio. “Ok. The guys are handling that for me and once they pin-point their exact location we’ll head out. JR let your pilot know to stay on stand-by and the minute we have more information we’ll be flying out. Angela.. Baby.” He turned to her fully and took her shoulders. “I need you to get a medical team together. Can you handle that?” He asked hoping she would be strong enough to do this. He knew she wanted to get out there and get to their boys, Madison and her friends, he wanted to do it just as much, but there were steps they had to follow. Going off half blind would only put more people, including the searchers in harm’s way and that was the last thing they needed.

After Jesse walked out Angie turned to JR. “Are you going to be okay? I know you’re worried out of your mind about them, but I know for a fact they would be just as worried about you if you even thought about getting out there in that weather. Maybe you should…” “JR, maybe you should sit this one out,” Tad finished for Angie. Hearing his cough and knowing he was already in bad shape just didn’t sit right with him and having him out there in that weather and no telling what kind of predicament they were about to walk into, Tad just didn’t feel right having him out there. “Angie’s right, we know you’re worried, but you’re sick and we don’t want you getting out there and getting worse. JR, think about this.”
Moments later Jesse returned and after telling them what was going to happen he turned to her and asked if she could get a medical team together. She also knew the underlining message he was conveying to her with his eyes. “Yes, baby… I can do it,” she replied softly before going to put on her shoes and jacket. “I’ll make the calls on the way to the station and by the time your guys figure out the whereabouts they’ll be ready… How long will it take for them to pin-point the location? I mean seeing as Di and other cops are aboard that bus it shouldn’t be that hard to do. Especially if they have tracking devices in their phones. Right?” Tad who had been quiet up until this point looked from Jesse to Angie and replied. “It all depends on the area. Sometimes areas could be too heavily wooded to pin-point an exact location. Sometimes the weather can interfere. There’s a lot that can make this task hard... But with Jesse and the guys on the job we won't have that problem. Right, Jesse?" He asked, turning his attention back to Jesse. Angie looked up at Jesse with same question swimming in her eyes.

JR shook his head as both Angie and Tad suggested that he stay at home and let them search for the others. "I'll be fine, there's nothing to think about" He insisted. "Everyone I care about, most of the family I have, they were on that bus...AJ was on there...I can't leave my son out there. I'm going to find him, make sure he's safe. "
"I can't just sit this one out...I have to be there, no matter what. I'll go there alone if I have to" JR told them knowing they'd all know that he was serious on that one. He was stubborn enough to not do what he was told even when it was best for him, but he would also do anything for his family, especially his child. "It'll be more stress on my health if I'm not there..." He said softer, knowing that they were looking out for his best interest, but also knowing he wasn't going to give in.

Before saying anything else Tad exchanged a look with Angie to get her take on this. Yea he understood exactly where JR was coming from, so did Angie and Jesse, but he… “Alright,” Tad heard Angie say before he could finish his thought. “Just promise me if you start feeling weak or unlike yourself you let one of us know. JR, we don’t want anything to happen to you. Your mother and your son especially would definitely not want anything to happen to you. So you promise me that much I’ll lay off,” Angie offered giving him a look and soon after giving Tad the same one.
“We should probably get going. Time is of the essence right now and… It’s going to take god only knows how long to figure this out so… We should go.” Tad nodded. “She’s right. We should,” he replied grabbing his keys from his pocket and turning to head out the door. “I’m going to stop by my office and grab something that will probably help us in the search and then I’ll meet you both at the station. Sounds alright?” “That’s good,” Angie replied.

JR would have agreed to almost anything at this point to keep those around him from trying to prevent him from finding his family. "Alright, I promise" JR told them, seeing a slight doubt in their eyes as he did so. "Listen the last thing I want is to end up slowing you down because I don't say something soon enough. I won't be the reason AJ's out there alone any longer that he has to be" He added, hoping at least that much they would believe. He knew he'd never forgive himself if they were attending to his needs and something worse happened to someone that he loved.
"The sooner we're there the better. My pilots ready to go if we need him"
