Kathy had brought over a box of her things when they’d temporarily moved into the Chandler Mansion while Tad was away. She’d rediscovered all kinds of things in her bedroom, packing up what she remembered and things she didn’t ever remember owning before. Reassured by her mom that these were indeed her belongings, she’d quickly packed them into a box and brought them with her along with all the essentials she’d need.
Now however, Kathy sat on the couch in the empty living room of the mansion, the box of things sitting in front. Timidly she peeled back one of the flaps and peered inside, pulling out the first thing on top, a drawing she’d made of her and her dad. She couldn’t remember making it, but she knew she had, she’d even signed it. The next thing was a blue ribbon award for arts and crafts she’d done at camp, only she didn’t remember ever going to camp; when she’d seen it she’d asked Dixie about it being told Krystal had sent her to camp and she’d gone ever since.
“I don’t want to go to camp,” Kathy had told Dixie in reply, with a shake of her head. “I don’t want to go away.”
Sighing as she placed the ribbon aside she brought out a photo album and started flipping through it, pausing when she saw a picture of her, Tad and Julia together at an event she felt fuzzy remembering. Pulling the picture out, she studied it for a moment. They were all dressed pretty fancy, it must have been for something special... Christmas? Maybe? No, it didn’t look like a Christmas event, maybe it was for a wedding? Or a birthday party?
“Aunt Julia,” she whispered, running a finger along her aunt’s face. “I miss you.” Hearing the sound of someone coming she quickly put the picture away and sat back on the couch, waiting to see who would come... OOC: Hope this is okay! If not I’ll change this to her being at the Martin household.

After checking in on the twins who were happily playing with A.J, and sneaking some snacks from the kitchen without Lucretia catching her, entering the living room Dixie spotted her daughter seated on the couch. Poking through a cardboard box. Recognizing the contents from across the room, softly Dixie sighed. Feeling heartbroken at the solemn look on Kathy's face as she examined the objects. She hated seeing her looking so lost and unsure, especially when she'd already suffered so much loss and uncertainty in her short life. But pushing her emotions down, managing a smile in spite of things, Dixie cleared her throat before slowly entering the room. She was in a walking cast now which thankfully made getting around the mansion easier. "Hi sunshine, I snuck some treats out of the kitchen for us! Don't think Lucretia caught me, at least I hope not." Her playful smirk growing solemn when Kathy looked up and hid the picture in the album, Dixie sat on the couch beside her. Setting a tray of fruit, pretzels, and two chocolate cupcakes down on the coffee table. "So, what you got there?", she asked, eying the book on Kathy's lap. "Ah..you know I always loved going through photo albums. After I got my first camera I made a ton of them for myself." Looking at the cover clearly decorated by her daughter, smiling Dixie ran a finger over the lettering and stickers. "This one looks terrific though, you must've put a lot of time into making this.", she said knowingly. "I don't think I'd be so quick to close it. I..would you mind if we took a look at it together?", she asked curiously. Not wanting Kathy to be afraid of looking at pictures from her past with her nearby, or worse, be too afraid or too upset to look at them at all.

Seeing her mom enter the room, Kathy tried to put on a smile as best she could, still hiding the photo album away as she did, not wanting to get caught. Seeing the treats that were being brought in she eyed them a little before putting her full attention back on her mom. Glancing at the door to see if Lucretia was coming in to take the treats back she gave her the thumbs up.
“She’s not coming,” she told her softly before sitting up a bit better on the couch. When she was asked about the photo album she considered shrugging and putting it away, but a part of her wanted to go through it, to see if it would help her remember things. “It’s a bunch of pictures.” Pausing as Dixie spoke of her own album, Kathy grinned a little, watching as her mom ran her hand over the cover before frowning at her next words and shook her head.
“I don’t... I don’t really remember making this one, but it looks like I did,” she agreed quietly, eyes studying all the different things she’d put on it. Biting her lip in consideration at the idea of the two of them looking through the album, she slowly began to nod and held it up for her to take, snuggling close to her.
“Can you help me remember?” she asked, and pulled out the picture she’d had earlier. “That’s me, Aunt Julia and daddy... but I don’t know why we’re dressed up pretty, was this at a birthday party? Or a wedding? Why aren’t you in it?” She tilted her head and stared at the picture of the three of them before resting her head against her moms shoulder. “There’s other pictures I don’t remember either...” Pointing to another of her, Nolan and Tara on a play structure she felt a ball of frustration grow inside her and fought back the tears.

"Well good, thanks for keeping a lookout.", Dixie said with a smile, that grew when Kathy grinned at her, but faded when she frowned.
Watching her struggle to remember if she made the album or not, slipping an arm around her she was relieved when Kathy nodded. Even if browsing the photos didn't snap her memory back into action, Dixie knew it could only help the situation. Taking the album, holding Kathy close, Dixie nodded. "Of course, honey. I'll do all I can to help you remember everything, I promise you that.", she assured.
Studying the photo Kathy had hidden earlier, Dixie looked on sadly at the grin on her husband and daughter's faces. The picture made her ache for Tad all the more, wishing he was here to help them through this. "Baby this picture was taken at Jesse and Angie's wedding. You guys got all dressed up for the ceremony and the reception they had afterwards. You know when everyone dances and stuff. You and your dad and your Aunt Julia were all invited. So were Colby and J.R and a bunch of other people. I couldn't go but, I was definitely there with all of you in spirit.", she said knowingly.
Feeling her heart break when Kathy admitted not to remembering other pictures, even recent ones with the twins, Dixie held her closer, brushing her lips on the top of her head. "Shhh, it's okay baby. It's okay. I gotcha.", she soothed. "I know you're frustrated not remembering, but it's going to take some time, babe. Nobody's expecting for everything to come back to you all at once. So don't get discouraged or feel bad if things are still a little fuzzy. The memories will all come back when they're supposed to." Getting a slight nod, gently Dixie started smoothing Kathy's hair. "And you know how I know that? A long time ago, when J.R was still a baby, your daddy had the same thing that's happening with you, happen to him. There was an accident and he took a bad fall, and afterwards, he didn't remember me, your brother, his family, even his own name. It took awhile for his memory to come back, but he told me once that even though his head didn't remember me, his heart did. He knew how much we loved each other and how much I loved him, and the love brought the memories right back. Right when we both needed them to.", reminisced Dixie, thinking about that night a "back from the dead" Tad found her in New York. "Your memory will come back, sweetheart. I promise. And til it does we'll be right here, doing whatever we can to help you and reminding you just how much we love you. Okay?", she asked, hoping she helped Kathy feel even a little bit better with things.
"This picture though of you with the twins; I took that at the park the day you climbed up to the top of the jungle gym, after you did all the monkey bars right in a row. You were so proud, but you got upset 'cause you thought the twins weren't paying attention and didn't see you. So..I told you if you got back up there I'd take a picture as proof to show them later on. I actually took about five, but the twins weren't looking right at the camera aside from in this one. And this was the only one you weren't making a silly face in.", she chuckled.

“Oh,” Kathy responded softly when informed about the picture. For a moment she stared at it, the words her mom had said still bouncing in her head. Trying really hard she concentrated on the picture, forcing her mind to pull out any memory she could place for it. A wedding, she’d been to Ryan and Annie’s before, but she couldn’t quite place a feeling she was having as she looked at it...
“I wanted Aunt Julia to catch the bouquet,” she said suddenly, as she remembered Colby and her talking in the bathroom. Quickly she looked up at Dixie with a grin and then frowned, tilting her head a little. “And you were there too mommy, we danced...” She didn’t know why she thought this had happened, but she could feel it, and she knew it must have taken place. Holding her mom close when she hugged her, Kathy still felt frustrated over the things she couldn’t remember, the people she didn’t know were even her family.
“But what if I never remember all these things?” she asked with worry, as her mom tried to assure her about the memory coming back. “I don’t want to forget you or daddy, or my sister and brothers. I want to remember, I don’t like forgetting.” However she did give a little nod, knowing it would take time for these things to return. Shaking her head and giving a small shrug when her mom asked if she knew how her mom knew this, she listened intently to her explain about Tad.
“Do you think love will bring back my memories too?” she wondered aloud, before nodding, glad to have her family and friends around her to help with things. “Okay.” Settling against her mom again she glanced at the picture of her and her two younger siblings as she was told what was happening while it was being taken.
“Were they really not paying attention?” she asked curiously with a frown, however the frown faded and turned into a smile as she was told the rest of the story. “I was making a silly face? Did I stick out my tongue too?” She stuck her tongue out at that and giggled a little before looking back to the photo album once more, finding one where her and Dixie were both in the kitchen cooking something.
“What are we making here?” she asked, pointing at the picture before looking to another one of her and the gang at Wildwind on New Years Eve. “I remember this, that’s when mommy was sick in the hospital, we were going to have cake but Del ate it.” She made a slight pout before glancing at another and pausing. “Mommy? What’s something we did that I don’t remember? What’s your best memory of us?”

When Kathy looked up at her puzzled, saying that they'd danced at the wedding, Dixie frowned curiously. She'd returned to the land of the living long after the ceremony had taken place, but yet the scene Kathy described sounded familiar to her. Like something she had dreamed once upon a time.
"Never say never, sunshine. Okay? That's why me and Tara and your brothers are here. To keep you from forgetting anything else, and to help you make new memories in the meantime. I know it's tough being patient, you get that from me. But, you just gotta stay positive for now, alright? Just think good thoughts.", she encouraged. Happy when Kathy nodded at her and snuggled closer. "Oh yes you did. J.R used to do the same thing when he was your age. Thought if he was silly enough it would distract me from taking more pictures of him. I never understood that though, all my children are very photogenic.", Dixie said proudly.
Watching as Kathy flipped to the next part of the album, she beamed at the photo of the two of them in the kitchen. Ruth had taken it and it was one of her favorites.
"That was last fourth of July in the kitchen at Grandma Ruth's. We had to make lots of cookies for the picnic that night, and needed to whip up some more last minute. So you were helping me. I remember you added an extra handful of chocolate chips to the batter when I had my back turned. You knew I wouldn't have had time to make a new batch.", she chuckled. Remembering how Ruth told her Tad pulled the same stunts when he was growing up, and when it came to baking Kathy was her father's daughter.
Watching Kathy study the Wildwind picture, even though this part of her life hadn't been wiped out from the amnesia, it did Dixie good hearing her say she remembered. "Of course he did.", she sighed, rolling her eyes. "That brother of mine, I tell you." Taken aback at Kathy's question, tearing up a bit, Dixie fought to keep a smile on her face as she leaned back into the cushions, reaching to smooth Kathy's hair after she slipped an arm around her.
"Sweetie, my best memory of us...it's, a lot of little ones. Like, the first time you called me Mommy, the first time I sang you to sleep, or rubbed your back after you had a bad dream. I remember too the first time you held the twins after we brought them home from the hospital. You weren't nervous at all, you even told Nolan a joke and got him smiling." Sensing Kathy wanted a bit of a story though, Dixie switched gears a bit. "I remember though, the first time I took you out shopping, you know just the two of us, we were at Lacey's and you spotted the makeup counter and all the perfume samples. I think you tried on every single kind of perfume on display, the entire store could smell it! There was also a salesgirl who asked if I wanted to try out this new line of makeup. I said yes, but you insisted on picking out which kinds I would wear and surprising me, and you didn't let me look at a mirror. Kathy, I walked out of that store with blue and purple eyeshadow, sparkles all over my face, bright red blush, and this pink lipstick that was practically neon. It looked like it'd glow in the dark. I looked like a clown! The entire way home from the mall you laughed at me. And then your dad saw me and laughed even harder. If the twins had been born then I think I would've scared them!", Smirking Dixie took her cellphone out of her pocket, showing Kathy a picture she'd taken that day. "See? You did that to me.", she playfully pouted.

“We are? Even with our tongues sticking out?” Kathy teased with a giggle, sticking hers out again. “Did J.R. always stick his out, all the time? I used to stick mine out sometimes with Aunt Julia, but then she said she’d want a nice one and I stopped.” Glancing back at the photo album she continued to flip through until she got to the one with them in the kitchen, curious to know what they were up to, and grinning as she was told.
“Did we have to make more because we kept sneaking them?” she asked, trying hard to remember this picture. At the mention that she’d added more chocolate chips to the batter she held back a fit of giggles and shook her head. “I didn’t do that! ... did I?” She blushed a little, wishing she could remember that day again, and hoping soon she would.
“Del’s your brother?” she asked in surprise, eyes widening at this news. “But I thought he was Di’s brother? Does that mean we’re family too? And even though he ate the cake we still had lots of treats because everyone had brought something.” Settling in beside her, anxiously waiting to be told what her moms favourite memory of her was, she glanced up when her hair was smoothed back and an arm went around her.
“I wish I could remember all that,” she said quietly, listening to Dixie explain all the little things she’d done with her and her family. “Does it make you sad that I cant remember all that anymore? I know I will, one day, but right now... it makes me sad that I cant. I want to remember calling you mommy for the first time, even if it happened a few days ago, and I want to remember Nolan and Tara when they were littler.” Falling silent as her mom began to talk about a memory she had of the two of them, she slowly began to feel a grin growing back on her face.
“Did I really do that?” she gasped as the story continued into the part of her putting makeup on Dixie. “I bet you still looked pretty though.” When the phone was offered to her she took it in her hand and studied the picture before shaking her head and making a face. “I’m sorry, mommy.” She tried really hard to fight back a laugh but it escaped and she grabbed the pillow, pulling it up and giggling into it before slowly it died down and she went still.
“Mommy?” she said after a minute. “Mommy I remember playing beauty parlor with daddy and Krystal. I was going to put makeup on Jenny, but they wouldn’t let me because she was too little. I remember daddy, and my sister and Krystal too! I remember!” She practically leapt up and into her moms arms, hugging her tight before pulling back. “But you weren’t there... where were you? Why don’t I remember you with daddy and Krystal?”

When Kathy blushed, asking if she'd actually done that to the batter, Dixie smirked before nodding, but went serious when she asked about Del. "Yes sunshine. Del's my half brother, and Di is my half sister. It's like with you and Jenny, you have the same daddy but, I'm your mommy and Krystal is Jenny's mommy. But you're right, we are all family. Del's your uncle. Even though he's just about the silliest uncle you could ask for.", she scoffed.
At Kathy's next question, Dixie sighed but managed a brave face complete with a soft smile. "Kathy the only reason I'm sad is because, not remembering things has you so sad. When you feel sad I do too. But what I try and do each time I feel that way is try to think of something good that's happened. And what's good is that you're here with me so I can help you, that you aren't sick or really hurt, that you don't have a cast like mine. All that makes me feel good enough to get through the bad stuff and feeling sad.", she answered honestly. As difficult as it was seeing Kathy struggling now, nothing was as bad as her struggling to breathe after being pulled from the icy water, Thinking of that nightmare was helping Dixie keep things in perspective, considering how much worse things could be right now.
"Oh well thank you.", Dixie blushed at Kathy's compliment. Watching her reaction to the photo, a huge grin broke out on her face that she tried to make with a pout, crossing her arms. "Hmmph, well I never.", she teased, then reached over and tickled Kathy as she held onto the pillow. Both of them laughed and laughed some more, until finally settling back down.
Not long after though Dixie snapped to attention when Kathy started remembering something else, something more recent involving Krystal and Jenny. Eyes wide she listened closely, needing to make sure she wasn't hearing things. She knew she wasn't though when Kathy jumped into her arms. Holding her just as tight, Dixie closed her eyes but tears still filled them and escaped down her cheeks. "Thank God..I knew this'd happen, baby. I knew it.", she cried in relief, hugging Kathy as close as she could. Even if blanks still had to be filled in, Dixie knew this was a breakthrough and she couldn't have been happier about it.
"What? What is it sunshine?" she asked nervously after Kathy pulled back, and asked a simple but loaded question. One that Dixie had to think about before answering. "Well, Kathy back then, I..I wasn't with you because I'd gotten sick. I'd gotten really sick. My heart, it stopped working the way it was supposed to. And most of the time when that happens to people, they wind up going to heaven. That was what our whole family thought had happened to me. That's what your dad thought when he was married to Krystal, that..I'd gone to be with the angels and that he had to move on, make a life for you and your sister without me. But, it turned out heaven wasn't quite ready for me yet. I knew I had a life back here with your dad and brothers and you that I had to get back to. So, I did everything I could to get better, with the help of some doctors in Europe that my Uncle Palmer found for me. While they were trying to get my heart strong again though, I had to sleep. I had to sleep for a long time. Once I got better though and woke up, I got back to Pine Valley as fast as I could to be with our family. There was nothing that was gonna keep me away from your brothers and your dad...", smoothing Kathy's hair back, Dixie smiled. "And especially nothing that'd keep me away from you."

“He’s pretty silly!” Kathy agreed about Del with a giggle. “So Del is my uncle and... and Di is my aunt? Did Aunt Julia know we were all family before she went to Heaven? Do I have any other uncle’s and aunt’s that I don’t remember? Can I meet them all... a-again?” She bit her a lip a little when her mom explained what made her sad about the whole memory loss situation.
“I don’t mean to make you sad, mommy,” she said quietly, glancing down at the floor for a moment. “I don’t like not remembering, and I don’t like that Aunt Julia isn’t here and that someone hurt her. I’m sorry I make you sad.” Pausing as her mom further explained how she cheered herself up, Kathy nodded a little and tried a half smile, her eyes going back to her. “Those are good things to think to make you better. I like those thoughts. I want to help you with your cast too, mommy so more of the bad and sad stuff is gone.”
They’d laughed for a long time over the picture on the phone of Dixie in all her makeup that Kathy wished she could remember having picked out. Trying to escape the tickling, her giggles and laughs filling the room, they eventually died down after a while. But the picture had jogged her memory and as she told Dixie everything she could possibly remember about it and then hugged her mom tightly when she was done.
“Does this mean I’ll get it all back soon?” she asked hopeful for good news after having remembering this, still hugging her tightly. She waited for a second before asking why she couldn’t remember Dixie being there with them. It was troubling to think that her half-sister had her mom there but she didn’t have hers. When Dixie started to explain she felt herself growing sad with learning the news about what had happened to her.
“But if you didn’t go to Heaven, how come we didn’t know where you were?” she wondered sadly. “We would have made sure you got better at home, like we’re doing now.” She didn’t really like the idea that her mom had been kept away from her family for so long. For a second though, listening to this gave her a tiny bit of hope that maybe her Aunt Julia was somewhere getting better before she came back home too. “What happened when you came home? Was Krystal and daddy still married? How did we meet? What did we say?” She was eager for anything to help jog her memory now. OOC: You don’t have to stick to the show with how they met... cause that reunion bugged me so much.

"It's a good sign of that happening, baby. It really is. But don't push too hard or get discouraged if your memories aren't back tomorrow or something. Alright? It's gonna take time, maybe a lot or, maybe just a little.", Dixie said gently. She wanted to be optimistic but wasn't going to get Kathy's hopes up over something she wasn't absolutely sure of. Seeing sadness fill her eyes though as she told the story, Dixie softly smiled and smoothed her daughter's hair.
"Kathy it was actually for the best that I wasn't here in Pine Valley when I was recovering. The doctors and Uncle Palmer weren't exactly sure that I would get better. Like I said I was asleep for a long time, and they knew I wouldn't want all my family worrying over me. Especially if something had gone wrong and I did wind up in heaven. I came home the second I knew I'd be strong enough to take care of you all. So, it worked out for the best. I promise you.", she assured, as Kathy got a curious glimmer of hope in her eye. Dixie could practically see the wheels turning in her little head, and was wondering what or who she was thinking about, but didn't want to push her for the answer. Not when she had some many questions of her own.
"Well, not long after I got back to town I ran into your dad and Krystal at Confusion. Angie was there too. When they realized I was still alive they were all really surprised. So was J.R when he saw me. As much as I wanted to see you again though, I stayed here at the mansion for awhile. I didn't feel right going to stay with your dad when he was married to Krystal, and, I wanted to tell you I was your mom when the time was right. One day though, I was visiting Angie at the hospital when Krystal showed up there, with you. You walked right up and introduced yourself to me again, then we went down to the cafeteria and got some ice cream. After I even helped you make your Christmas list. Then a week or so later, there was a tree lighting ceremony at the park with hot chocolate and games and ice skating. I went with J.R and A.J and the Hubbards, and Krystal and your dad brought you. You asked me if the two of us could skate together, and then, once we were out on the ice, you asked me about how your dad and I used to wish on a star at Christmas. I showed you how to make a wish and after I made a wish of my own. That next Christmas, you and me and your dad, we'd all be living together again. And that you'd know I was your real mommy. Well, my wish wound up coming true. A lot sooner than I thought.", she said. Not wanting to go into full detail about how Kathy learned the truth. In the hospital after she'd fallen on the ice, broken her leg and Dixie demanded a nurse to let her in to see her daughter, a demand that Kathy had overheard, that led her to put two and two together.
(OOC: used the reunion I'd written on here many moons ago, if it doesn't work for you lemme know!)

Colby was missing Jamie. It was just that simple. They had just gotten used to JR giving his blessing with them dating before he simply disappeared without telling Colby where he was going. But she didn’t question when he didn’t call right away; she was going to wait as long as it took until she could welcome him back with open arms. Then came the call from Dixie; she’d invited Dixie over to the Chandler mansion to spend some time with her and to bring Tad & Kathy. Colby readily accepted the invitation, eager to get to know Jamie’s father and step-mom and half-sister, and was now standing inside the Chandler mansion waiting for someone to ring the doorbell while checking on a dessert dish of homemade brownies for Kathy.
She was running back and forth while she did. Finally she gave the person who did a smile after answering it. “Hi there, I hope it was okay that I made a dessert,” she said in a rush. “If not, I can leave it in the kitchen for you to take home later.”

Turning around from her spot on the living room couch when she heard footsteps, Dixie gave the younger blond a smile as she entered the room. "Hi Colby!", she greeted. After moving into the mansion she hadn't seen much of the girl, but was happy to see she was alright with her and Kathy and the twins staying here. She feared between Nolan and Tara and Kathy and her, it'd seem like the Martins were invading, but J.R insisted everything was fine and Dixie took him at his word.
When she mentioned making dessert, thinking how thoughtful that sounded, Dixie smiled. "Oh well isn't that sweet! I..there's no need to leave it in the kitchen though, always some room for dessert, right?", she smirked.
Moving the tray of snacks she'd brought in, after Colby set the brownies on the table, Dixie moved over on the sofa to make some room for her. "We're just going through some old photo albums of Kathy's. I..sunshine, is it alright if Colby takes a look with us?", she asked curiously. Not sure if Kathy would be comfortable taking a trip down memory lane with more than just her.

“How long did it take for you to tell me you were my mommy? Were you scared at all?” Kathy asked with great interest. Wishing she could remember this reunion as she was told about it, she tried to think but nothing came to her. “Did daddy tell you right away that I was your little girl? I bet he was happy you were alright and that you weren’t sleeping or sick anymore.” Slightly confused when Dixie mentioned them remeeting at the hospital she tilted her head a bit and frowned.
“So we met at the hospital but you didn’t tell me you were my mommy than?” she wondered, a little sad that it had to be kept a secret for so long. Continuing to listen to what had happened when they’d met up at the tree lighting ceremony. “You and daddy wish on a Christmas star? Do you know what I wished for? I didn’t tell you, did I? Cause you aren’t supposed to tell anyone a wish. So the star made your wish happen? And we all had Christmas together? Ho – How did daddy find out about me being his daughter, do you know?” The sound of someone coming had her looking up from the photo album and towards the door, just as Colby came into view and spoke about having made dessert.
She remained quiet as her mom spoke with the young girl, and gave her a nod at the mention of always having room for dessert. Standing up to help her mom move the tray over she realized it had already been taken care of and sat back down again and moved over to make room for the newcomer. When Kathy was addressed again, she glanced up and slowly began to nod.
“We were talking about Aunt Julia, and how I met mommy and daddy,” she explained quietly before her smile slumped a little. “Only I don’t – don’t remember much of it. I remember when my... my other mommy was in the hospital and I came here with Aunt Julia, J.R. was sick and she had to look after him, that was when I met you.” She looked up at Dixie and smiled for a moment, before glancing at Colby. “And I think I saw you in the hall with your daddy once before I went home... and you were there when I took the picture I drew Tad one time at his home.” Unsure what to say, not knowing Colby as well as Lily, and the memories of Colby after Julia’s passing having been lost, she felt slightly awkward and sad. For a moment she sat in silence before she realized what she said. “I mean daddy... but I didn’t know he was my daddy back then.” Although to her it only felt like a few months ago... OOC: That’s perfectly fine with me, Dix!

“Hi Dixie,” Colby returned with a soft enthusiasm. “Are you sure? I don’t want them to be a bother for the moment.” She finally gave in and put them on the table before sitting down on one side of Dixie, Kathy occupying the other side. “A photo album? Those would be good to look at. I do love photo albums.”
Colby looked around Dixie when Kathy spoke. “Aunt Julia? Who is that?” She had to assume that Julia was Tad’s sister but really had no clue. “Oh, Kathy. Some of us often don’t remember people who cared about us, but forcing the memories is probably not a good idea. That’s right! Oh, sweetie, it’s okay. I didn’t know who my daddy was until I was just around your age, I believe.”

“It’s okay Colby, you can stay and help me remember,” Kathy told Colby softly with a smile, sitting back against the couch as she held one corner of the album. She wasn’t sure if Colby would like the photo album she had, as most of it had to do with her family and events in their life. However when Colby asked who Aunt Julia was, Kathy felt stunned and bit her lip sadly. Did everyone not remember her Aunt anymore?
“Aunt Julia was there for me when my first mommy and daddy died,” she explained, struggling to keep composure. “I lived with her in Wildwind with everyone. Emma and her mommy lived there, and A-Aunty Di and Uncle Del, and Amanda and Jonathan. Aunt Julia is with the angels but when she was alive she was with me and Jamie.” Pausing for a second, she remembered how close Jamie and Julia were and glanced up at Dixie really quick. “Did they get married? Jamie and my Aunt Julia? I remember they were really happy and I think they loved each other a lot.” Biting her lip she glanced at Colby when she spoke about things and shook her head a little.
“I don’t remember because I got hurt in the accident and it made my memory fuzzy,” she corrected her quietly. “I know I cant force it, but I wanna remember so I don’t forget again. Why didn’t you know who your daddy was? I wanted Tad to be my daddy because he was funny and made me laugh, but Aunt Julia and everyone told me no, because I had a mommy and daddy already. And then Emma got her new daddy and I still wanted Tad to be mine... but I don’t remember how he became my daddy because of the accident.” She wished she could remember those things, and glanced up at Dixie for help.
