Sample Post:
Visiting the Pine Valley Cemetery, was Tara Martin, the daughter of Joe and Helen, sibling of Tad, Jake and Jeff Martin and mother of Charlie Brent and Kelsey Jefferson. She was debating on whether to come back to Pine Valley for good because it made her miss not only her mother Helen, Grandma Kate but most importantly Phil Brent, her true soul mate, high school sweet heart and true love. All those years of leaving PV, going to Portland, divorcing her former husband Jim Jefferson, going to Florida starting her life anew but that wasn't enough. Tara walked over to the of her grandparents Kate and Henry Martin graves.
"Grandma....grandpa, it's me, Tara Martin. You're granddaughter Tara, I’m back in Pine Valley and this time for good. I need to be strong and stop being afraid of what happened in the past and be there for my family, for daddy, Ruth, Jeff, Jake, Tad, my son Charlie and most importantly for my grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They need me, most importantly, I need them. I need to stop being afraid and live out my life, brand new and fresh. Please, give me strength to battle the demons that stand in my way. I love you grandpa and grandma, watch over me”
Tara said as she kissed her hand and placed it on the headstone on both their graves and walked away to another headstone. She remembered all the advice her grandmother Kate told her to be strong and follow your heart but she wondered if it could be enough to forget about the past like she mentioned. As Tara walked by other gravestones, she stopped and saw one that made her almost cry but didn’t. She remained strong and determined to get thought this because the person she knew died from a plane crash when he was in a mission years ago. This was someone Tara loved, it wasn’t Chuck Tyler, even though she considered him a friend, helping her out in tough times and it certaintly wasn’t Jim Jefferson, it was Phil Brent. She walked over and stopped at his gravestone smiling.
“Hi Phillip…it’s me sweetie, Tara, the woman of your dreams remember?” she asked smiling and laughing. “You and me have had sweet times Phillip, very sweet times. The times when we did our homework together, would go out and just be ourselves. We couldn’t get enough of each other. I couldn’t get enough of that handsome hair, smile, and laugh when we would crack jokes at one another. But growing up as adults wasn’t easy you know? Anyway Phillip, I wanted to let you know that im back here in Pine Valley for good. I need to throw away the fears that are in front of me baby. I’m so proud of our boy Charlie. He’s a grown man who’s married and has children, they’re adorable, Nick and Phillip. Every time when I look into Charlie, Nick and Phillip, I see you. Well, I must go, I love you Phillip. Watch over my grandmother and grandfather, including me.”
Just like she did for her grandparents, she kisses her hand and puts it on Phillip’s headstone. Tara then closes her eyes and thinks back to all those times that she and Phillip would make sweet love, cuddle and snuggle by the fire, eating smores, studying for their homework but getting distracted by each other. She remembers the time when herself and Phil got married years ago, which was never forgotten. Tara opened her eyes ; that was the past, this is now. She walked away from Phil’s headstone, heading back to her car and starting it up. Tara felt more comfortable because she got over what was bothering her so far. She has a long way to go but this was just a start of things to come.
