“I told you,” Angie teased before laughing at the look on her friend’s face. When Krystal made a joke about Erica making Jack run laps, Angie couldn’t hold her laughter in. “You’re bad.”
Angie smiled. “Well now that you’re back this so called great doctor I keep hearing people talk about will not let you off the hook. So when I call and say girls day out you have no choice but to agree to it. Otherwise… I’ll just have to force you. And let’s not forget my husband is the Chief. I have pretty much control over a lot,” she teased. “Seriously, I’m glad to have you back.”
After a minute Angie cleared her throat. She’d been avoiding the question for quite sometime. She figured now was as good a time as any. “I completely understand if you say that this is no business of mine, but I was wondering. Since you’ve been back… Have you and Tad had a chance to talk? Has Jenny seen her father lately?”

"You know I am always up for a girls day! And I am sure that Opal wouldn't mind coming over to play with Jenny at all. She is so great with her and Jenny loves her so much." Krystal smiled.
Krystal knew Angie's question was coming. If not from her it would have been from someone else. But Krystal shook her head. "No. She has not seen him and I..I have not even tried to get ahold of him. I know I will not win mother of the year with that attitude but it has been so hard moving back here and..and I just needed some time. Before I took Jenny back to her family I guess. But I am planning on it Angie I really am. It has nothing to do with how I feel about Tad but it does have to do with being the best I can be for his little girl. I needed to get my feet wet before I dove into this family thing and now that I have I promise I am going to call him."

“I will definitely take a little look at my calendar and see when we can do this, because you and I are long over due for a girls day.”
As Krystal answered her burning question about she, Tad and Jenny, she listened. When she mentioned that Jenny hadn’t seen her father since they’ve returned and she hadn’t made an attempt to call him, Angie gave her a saddened look. Usually this would be where she would jump in and start telling Krystal how wrong she was, but instead she sat back and let the woman finish. Hearing that she felt bad for not calling him made Angie realize her rant about what she did for her and her child would not be needed.
“You know I thought for a minute I was going to have to resort to the old Angie, but I see I don’t have to,” she said giving her friend a smile. “I am glad that you’re going to make that call. You know how Tad feels about his baby and how Jenny feels about her daddy.”
“Uh… You mentioned how you felt about Tad.” She cleared her throat and fixed her friend with a questioning look. “This stays strictly between us. What you tell me will not leave this table. I swear to you,” she assured. “But exactly what do you feel for him?”

"Jenny talks about him all the time. But we did actually try to see him a couple of days ago and even though he was not home we stayed and she played with Kathy while Dixie and I talked. I think it was good for us." Krystal nodded.
"I.." Krystal was almost surprised at her question. "I guess that I am always gonna love him. I mean he is the father of my child. And we had a lot of good times together. But I know how happy he is with Dixie and I am not gonna ruin that..and I really don't think I want to either. I guess that is why I left town but as soon as I knew I was ready and I did not have those feelings anymore I came back. It was really good hearing Dixie talk about him..because I used to be jealous and get upset but now I am just happy for them." Krystal realized she had not even talked to herself about this yet but it was the truth.

Angie nodded in agreement after hearing that she and Dixie talked. She didn’t see any dissatisfaction on her face so she knew when she when said it was good from them she knew it wasn’t a lie. “I’m glad to hear that,” she told her. It would have been under different circumstances, for Krystal to still have something against Dixie and vice-versa, if there wasn’t a little girl involved. But there was and discord was not best for her or any of them for that matter.
“Surprised?” She asked taking in the obvious look of that when she couldn’t answer her question right off the bat.
After hearing that Krystal would always have love for Tad, but no longer was in love with him and made it perfectly clear that she was happy for him and Dixie, Angie smiled. “It’s not that I was worried… Okay, maybe a tad bit, but now I see everything is cool,” she said with a nod. “Now don’t think I don’t want to see you happy. Trust me I do! I think you’re long overdue for a strong, handsome man to sweep you off your feet,” she said with a wink as she took a sip of her drink.

"I think you were a little worried." Krystal gave her a knowing grin and nodded.
"I know you want me to be happy and trust me my little girl is what makes me happy. It would be nice to have a man in my life again but I am not sure I am ready to let someone else in. So many men have hurt me..and it gets a little tiring. But that does not mean I am not holding out on him to come in on his white horse and ride off into the sunset with me. Because I am..but I am waiting until the time is right."
