“Buckled up?” Jesse asked getting into his truck and turning to look at Adrian who was in the back seat all but shaking his brain loose from bouncing to much from excitement.
“Buckled, now let’s go!”
Jesse shook his head and turned around. “Are you really sure you wanna go? It’s not too late to call Frankie and cancel.” A couple of months ago Adrian came to him and asked all about camping and if they could go one day. Being that he was more of a inside/shy/quite type Jesse never thought he would even put thought into something as outgoing as sleeping outside, but he sure fooled him. Definitely fooled Angie.
Ever since then Jesse could tell she was hoping the excitement would pass and fear would set in so she could keep him home with her. She wasn’t comfortable with her men going out there and getting into god knows what but because he and Frankie had done it before she would allow. Adrian on the other hand never done it was still a baby and so little anything could happen and then what. Even with all the promises Jesse made to her Angie still wasn’t cool with it but just like Frankie and Cass and even them Adrian had picked up that habit of ‘once his mind was made up, there was no changing it’. There wasn’t really much else she could do or say after that. At least not much to the point where he wouldn’t want to talk to her for a couple of days.
Cutting his daddy a look Adrian scoffed.
“Are you being a chicken?”
“What are you talking about I’ve done this before. Kid!”
Adrian scoffed again and turned his head before making chicken noises. Jesse chuckled and put the truck in gear. “Alright. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” He hinted and with another wave to Angie and Ari who were standing on the porch pulled out and headed to pick up Frankie.
