Marion had a scheduled appointment with Angie today. She needed to get some tests done. She had been experiencing alot of pain on her side. She had also called her daughter Liza to come and meet her at the hospital for support. She needed her daughter now more than ever. She arrived, and walked up to the Sign-In area for patients. "Hello. My name is Marian Colby Chandler. I am here for an eleven aclock appointment with Angela Hubbard" she said as she then signed in.
"Ms. Chandler, just have a seat and she will be with you very shortly." the receptionist said. She then walked over and sat down in her chair. She kept looking around, wondering where her daughter was. "Where are you Liza? I need you!" I whispered to myself.

When Liza got the call from her mom, she panicked a little, not knowing what to think, but she knew that letting Angie run tests would most likely help any problem that Marian had. She headed down to the hospital herself, to be with her, & thanked God silently that the next meeting she has was at two that afternoon.
She walked into the waiting room & was glad when Marian was there. "Hey mom," she said, walking over to give her mother a comforting hug. "I'm glad you haven't gone in yet... did they say how long you'd have to wait?" she asked curiously, hoping it wasn't long for both of their sakes.

“Dr. Hubbard, Ms. Colby is here for her appointment.” Never taking her eyes away from her computer screen, Angie nodded. “Thank you. I’ll be down as soon as I finish up this call.”
Angie just barely heard the nurses reply and the door closing over the clicking and clacking of her fingers moving across her keyboard and the person on the other end of the phone talking. “Okay… I will certainly be there,” she said as she finally leaned back in her chair and eased her feet back into her shoes. “Well listen I have a patient to see. But I will see you in two weeks.” She exchanged a few more words with the caller before hanging up and coming to her feet. After a few more minutes she was heading downstairs and then later walking down the hall to meet up with Marian.
“Hello Marian…” She looked over and noticed Liza was there as well. “And hello to you as well Liza. I do apologize for my tardiness.”
Angie looked back at Marian. “Do you need a few more minutes or are you ready?”

She looked over to her daughter and gave her a hug. "It shouldn't be long, dear. Liza, thank you for being here with me, as I go through these tests" she said as she looked down, and then heard Angie's voice. She turned to her and stood up, as she nodded. "Yes, I am ready" she said as she grabbed her daughter's hand. "As ready as I could ever be, I guess" she said with a small fake smile. She was a nervous wreck. She followed Angie into the examination room, and sat on the bed. "Dr. Hubbard, thanks for seeing me on short notice. I have been having alot of pain on my right side" she said, as she placed her hand to where the pain was at.
She then looked up to Angie. "So, I came to you, to help me" she said in a pleading tone.

On the way into the exam room Angie picked up the clip board and started making notes as soon as Marian began to speak about her pain. Nodding and still jotting down some information she took a seat on the rolling stool. “Okay, well before we go through all the necessary test I would like to ask a few questions.” Angie said just as she put the clipboard down, washed her hands and slipped on some gloves. “Lie back for me, would you.”
Angie raised her shirt to get a better look. “Tell me when the pressure becomes too much.” She began feeling around, checking for anything that may have been abnormal to the eye before she went on to order scans. “Can you tell me how long you’ve had this pain?” She asked. “And how would you rate this pain on a scale from one to ten, ten being severe?”

Marian laid back, and looked up to Angie, as Angie was feeling around where the pain was at. She then flinched as the pain on her side increased. "Okay, that was alot of pressure right there, and I know you didn't push hard, Angie. I would say, my pain level is at seven. This has been going on for about a month now, and I am only getting worse!" Marian explained as she then looked over to Liza, and grabbed her hand. She then looked back over to Angie. "So, what tests do you need to run, and what are you feeling on my side?" she asked, wanting to get some answers. She then sat up and gripped her daughter's hand tightly.
"What do you think it is, Angie?" she asked, as she looked to the doctor infront of her. She was scared, but she knew she wasn't alone.

Angie made a mental note as she continued her mini exam. “A month? Wow!” She nodded and let her finish. After a moment she pulled Marian’s shirt back down and moved to make a note on her chart. “Well, Marian it could be a number of things so I can’t be totally sure of exactly what until the tests are ran.” Angie took a seat. “Marian, I shouldn’t have to tell you when it comes to pain as such you need to come in immediately. It could be a number of things and it’s best to come in early for just in case purposes.”
“Okay, first we’re going to some blood work, urine sample. I want to dot every i and cross every T. After that I’m going to have you go in for an MRI. See what’s going on inside and then we’ll go from there.

"I see, well then lets get these tests started then" she said with a small smile as she looked over to Liza. "I will be okay. I promise darling" she said as she squeezed her hand tightly, and then looked over to Angie. "I trust you, Angie. Again, that is why I came to see you, because I feel like you are the best in your field" she said as she looked down. "Whatever is wrong with me, I believe you will fix it, and make me better" she said as she looked back up.
She then looked into Angie's eyes. She then took her hand from Liza's hand, and placed her own hand on Angie's hand this time. "Please, whatever is wrong with me, for my daughter's sake, and for my family's sake. I need to be with them" she said pleading with the doctor. "Please"

Liza watched carefully & told her mother, "Angie's going to take good care of you, Mom... you are in the best of hands with her," she said, giving a small smile & nod Angie's way. Not only was Dr. Hubbard the best physician, but she was also one of the kindest souls Liza had come to know. After the drama with Jesse, Angie found it in her heart to move past that, & Liza was eternally grateful for a second chance with that family.
She then added, "If there is any way to make you better, just know that she'll do whatever she can to help you... you're lucky to have such a good doctor, Mom," she told her mother truthfully.

Angie smiled at mother and daughter and when they looked back at her and Marian took her hand she gave a supporting, assuring squeeze. “I promise I will do everything in my power and then some to get you all better. You never have to doubt that,” Angie spoke from the bottom of her heart as she gave her hand another squeeze and then stood.
“I’m going to step out for a few minutes but while I’m gone I need you to change into this gown.” Angie went over to drawer and removed a gown as well as the robe to go along with it. And then she took a cup from the overhead cabinet. “And do the sample so I can go ahead and send it to the lab. Afterwards I’m going to do an exam, check your breathing and all of that. Draw some blood and then straight upstairs for some x-rays you go.”
Angie walked to the door before she turned back to them. “Oh! When I return I want to see some positive smiles on your faces.” And with that she walked out and headed down the hall.

"I will have a smile on my face, Angie" she said as she watched her walk out of the room. She then did what she was supposed to do. She changed into her gown, and then did her thing in the cup. She then laid into the bed, and looked up to Liza. "I know I asked alot of you to be here tonight, but I need my daughter here with me, Liza" she said as she looked away. "After losing Stuart, I just have been down lately, because I am so alone, Liza. Of course I have my family, but I just miss him" she said as she looked back up to her.
"But, I am so blessed to have a caring daughter like you, who I know will be here for me, when I need you" she said with a smile on her face.

Liza sighed. "Mom, there's no where else I'd rather be," she told her reassuringly.
She then smiled at her mom & said, "I am lucky to have you, too, Mom. You're going to be fine... trust me. Everything is going to turn out for the best." Liza touched her mom's hand & waited Angie to come back inside the room.

“Sorry to bother you. I came to pick up something for Dr. Hubbard.” A nurse politely said as she walked into the room and picked up the cup. “Dr. Hubbard said she will be with you shortly.” And with that she walked out and went to do as Angie told her.
When Angie finally returned to Marian and Liza, she gave them a soft smile. “I apologize for the wait. Had a very important call to take,” she said as she went to wash her hands and then finally whipping out her stethoscope. Angie checked Marian’s breathing, heart, pulse, all of the above and right before an orderly came in to take her to do her X-ray’s Angie pulled out a needle. “You going to feel a bit of a sting. And for that I apologize in advance,” she said.
The nurse Angie sent in earlier returned and to take the tubes to the lap. “Get back with me as soon as the test are done,” Angie ordered. “Okay, Marian, this nice man here,” she gestured to the man standing at the door with a wheelchair, “will take you to get your x-rays and show Liza where she can wait until you’re done. Trust me she will not be far from you.” Angie tapped her hand. “I will see you later on.” Angie had a inkling feeling she knew what this was, but she wanted to be 100% sure before she went and gave diagnosis.

She went to go get her x-rays done, which took about 45 minutes for them to finish. They then rolled her back down into her room, as they helped her back into the bed. "Can you go get my daughter, please?" Marian asked as she looked to the nurse.
"Sure, Ms. Chandler" the nurse said as she made her way over to see Liza. "Ms. Colby, your mother is back in her room, and she wants to see you" the nurse said, as she then walked off. A few minutes later, Marian looked up and saw her daughter walk into her room.
"Liza...I'm scared" she revealed as she looked up to her daughter, as there eyes met.

Liza got up & followed the nurse to Marian's room where she saw her mom. "Listen... there's nothing to be scared of, Mom. If there is something wrong, Angie & all of her staff are going to work as hard as they can to make you better," the redhead told her, taking her hand.
She gave Marian a smile. "But I think you're going to be just fine, Mom. Really... you just seem a little off your game. We'll get you back on track, okay?" she said carefully.
