Marissa watched everything unfold infront of her it reminded her of some horror movie. Only she couldn't turn this off with the press of a button, and this was something that was going to haunt her for a very long time. Not really thinking about herself at the moment, she gathers AJ close to her and places her free arm around Colby as she begins to speak.
"We need to find a place to make camp, I know me and you can't really do anything due to broken bones. Hopefully once we get everyone together we can find a place to make camp, and maybe some dry wood and stuff so we can start a fire. We all need to get warm and quickly before we all freeze to death."
Marissa gently guides Colby down onto a nearby rock so that she can rest instead of putting pressure on her leg. She takes a deep breath and cringes as she feels the pain in her side. She soon takes a seat next to Colby and motions for AJ to set down while they await for the guys to come back to get them. Marissa leans her head back against the tree and closes her eyes. She was so tired, but she had to be strong to make sure AJ got through this. She is soon brought back from her thoughts as she remembered that she was talking to JR before the bus crashed as she speaks.
"Oh my god, I bet JR is worried sick... I was talking to him right before the bus crashed. The last thing I said to him was I love you and the phone slipped from my hand when I grabbed AJ. I know he probably heard everything I just hope he isn't blaming himself for allowing us to go he had no idea something like this would happen."
Marissa takes a shallow breath and tries to pull her jacket around her as best as her shattered arm would allow her to do. She then reaches up and brushes a stray piece of hair from her face before leaning her head back once more closing her eyes resting them before reopening them. All the while hoping Dixie and Kathy are ok, and she couldnt help but wonder what was going on in JR's head right now.

Colby listened to Marissa talk as the redhead gently guided her down onto a nearby rock so that she can rest instead of putting pressure on her leg. Colby watches as her brother’s fiancé takes a deep breath and cringes as she feels the pain in her side. “Marissa, are you okay?” the blonde asked Marissa. She didn’t want her brother’s future wife to be hurt, not any more than Colby was. “And if I know my brother well, he’s with Tad & Jesse, and they’ll get help to come find us, Marissa.”
To think, 24 hours ago, Colby had to worry about her sudden crush on Jamie, but now she had to think about surviving the worst thing that could happen to her – or to anyone she knew. “Help will be on the way soon,” she continued to reassure her future sister in law, as well as Adrian Hubbard and her nephew.

Holding Kathy's tiny cold hand at her lips, Dixie's teary eyes watched and waited for her daughter's to finally open. Still sprawled out on the ice she refused to budge, even breathe, partly from the cold and pain running through her but mostly from fear.
In the background she could hear Frankie and Jamie working to save Madison and Di. But as scared as she was for all of them, especially her sister, she couldn't tear her attention away from her baby. Her sweet Kate, lying on the ice right next to her hurt and pale and cold. The calm near glow she'd have when she was tucked in or dozing with her chicken on the sofa, wasn't there at all. Right now she looked alone and small and scared, in whatever place she was in now that she didn't belong in.
Muttering prayers and reassuring words under her breath that hurt her to catch, Dixie slowly, instinctively linked two of her fingers with Kathy's. "C..c'mon Katie.. To..together..fo..forever." Shutting her eyes, a few tears seeped from them until she heard a sound that made them snap back open. "Kathy?! B..baby?! Sitting up, she choked back a sob when Kathy's eyes locked with her's and shifted close to stroke her hair. Making sure to keep eye contact with her and give her enough space to try and breathe. "Shh, sunshine it's okay. It's okay, I.. I'm here. I'm here. S..sSay something, s..say anything.", she coached, but coughed when the wind rushed past them. The chilly air felt like knives to her chest and brought her to tears. That fell when Kathy's eyes shut again, even though the slight rise and fall of her chest meant she was hanging on.
"O..okay you're breathing..you're breathing honey, you..you're gonna be okay. I gotcha.", she soothed. "We..we gotta g..get those baby blues open though, alright. We..we'll get you off this ice, get you warm. I..it'll all be okay sweetheart, I..I promise you." With help from Lily they got Kathy off the ice and onto the not quite as cold ground, not too far from where Colby and Marissa were resting. Not thinking twice, Dixie took off her parka and then after her fleece to give to Lily. "Here...it's dry. Y.you need it more than me.", she insisted. Before replacing Kathy's soaked coat with her own, and using her scarf to apply pressure to the cut on the side of her head, hoping to stop the bleeding. She knew Frankie or Jamie would need to check her out eventually but right now she had to do what she could. And the first priority in Dixie's eyes was getting Kathy's eyes open. Slipping behind her she wrapped her arms around her snugly, trying to envelop her in warmth and something resembling security. Kissing her on the top of the head she looked to Lily. Tearful and grateful. "You..you saved her. You s..saved my baby.", she choked out. "I..I don't know how to..to thank you." Fighting all the instincts she had to hug the younger woman, knowing that would just make this all more of a nightmare for her, Dixie resigned to holding Kathy all the more snugly. Not willing to let her out of her sight.

It was like a fuzzy dream where faces focused and unfocused around her and she was left struggling to make them out. Who had been the lady that had been watching over her when she’d woken up? She couldn’t quite place the face, but there was something very familiar about it.
Kathy had remained unconsciousness throughout the whole time she was shifted and moved to the new location. However she could make out soothing and encouraging words coming from a voice near her and she clung to them, hoping to see Aunt Julia again and be away from all the scary cold and wetness she felt surrounded in. The person speaking, however, told her to open her eyes, but she didn’t want to, she wasn’t ready, she needed to rest before she did that...
There was a sudden new chill as her coat was removed and her bare skin became exposed to the icy air, and her trembling began to worsen until the warmth of her mothers parka surrounded her. There was also pressure placed against the side of her head, which caused a pain to thud in its place, however she felt the kiss on her forehead, the arms wrapped securely around her and she moved closer to them.
“Mmm,” she groaned weakly, hearing that voice again, only she couldn’t make out what they were saying, or to who. But as the snug got tighter she shifted a little and slowly opened her eyes a crack before shutting them once more. She had to say something, she had to ask, had to find out what was going on. “W – wh... whe-re’s A-Au-unt J-Ju-lia?” It was slow and stuttery, a mix of teeth chattering and trembles, and she coughed in the cold nights air. Her eyes opened once more and she glanced weakly up at her mom, no sign of recognition on her face as to who she was, except the feeling of familiarity and comfort.

When Kathy coughed up the water and began to breath again Lily backed off of the cpr in shock. It had actually worked! She quickly helped DIxie to move Kathy off the ice. She needed the help now as her arm was throbbing worse as the adrenaline from jumping in the water had warn off. Once she placed Kathy on the ground Lily backed away sitting huddled on the ground, her arms wrapped around herself, as she watched them, hoping that Kathy really was alright. When Dixie offered her fleece, Lily hesitated a moment, knowing that it was cold out here and that Dixie needed to be warm too, but seeing the insistent look on the woman's face, as well feeling how cold the air was making her own wet clothes feel, she nodded silently and gratefully took the extra warmth.
Lily watched as Dixie held Kathy and the young girl seemed to be slowly coming to. Dixie thanked Lily and said that she had saved Kathy. "I couldn't leave her there..." Lily said shaking her head, not sure she should be thanked right now when there were two people she had left in the water.
Lily looked back over near the bus where Madison and Di were laying on the ground. "I should've gotten them out too...I shouldn't have left them in there" She said, her eyes filling with tears as she clutched the fleece tighter. She knew she wasn't strong enough to have gotten them all herself, but she felt s though she had left them to die. "It'll be my fault...." She said not finishing the sentence, but in her mind thinking she would be to blame for their deaths. She wondered if her father could ever forgive her, or if she would be legally responsible.

Because of the pain of trying to breathe Madison had started to give up, but then something or somebody wouldn’t let that happen. Somebody or something started to will the breath from her body. Heaving in a big breath, Madison surged forward and started to cough. Water began to come from her mouth and her body began to violently shake. She felt as if she was coughing up a lung!
“She’s awake!” Somebody yelped next to her. She heard other voices around her as well and even felt something go around her shoulders, but for the life of her she couldn’t figure out what. Her vision was still blurred and her hearing was impaired. “Madison, are you okay?” It sounded like the same person but she couldn’t be sure.
What happened? She asked herself. The last thing she remembered was being surrounded by freezing water, seeing a little girl and then everything went dark.

Listening closely to the woman that saved her daughter's life, Dixie nodded in understanding as she stroked Kathy's hair. Trying to dry it with the free end of the scarf. Following Lily's eyes to where Di and Madison were laid out, Dixie's stomach knotted and tears filled her eyes seeing her sister in that condition. She knew though Jamie and Frankie were doing everything they could. And given her knee, Kathy's predicament, and that if her heart was acting up she had to remain calm, Dixie stayed put. She knew both the blondes were young and strong and in good health. If anyone could make it through this nightmare it would be the two of them. It was clear though that Lily didn't seem to feel as confident. "No...Lily you..you did everything y..you could.", she insisted. "N..nobody expected you to save everyone from that water by yourself, hon. Nobody did." Shaking her head no when Lily said what happened from now on would be on her head, Dixie coughed a bit before speaking. "No..no. That is not true. All that is happening now is out of our control sweetheart. All we can do is do the best we can, and..your best was out there saving Kathy. I was the one trapped and forced to watch it all play out. But if I sit here blaming myself for Di or for any of you being out on that ice, I..I'm gonna fall apart. I'll be no help to anyone. Same as you'd be if you spent any more time than you did in that water. Right now all we can do is know what we're capable of and do it. Do what we can without hurting ourselves. Otherwise we'll all be helpless.", she said firmly but gently, hoping Lily heard her. Then though she heard a faint moan, felt a shift, and immediately turned her attention to the girl in her lap. "Kathy..baby?" , Dixie gasped. Wondering if she'd just imagined that until Kathy moved again, prompting her to bury her face in the hood of her's/Kathy's coat to muffle her sobs.
No matter how worked up she was at her daughter's weak state, the situation all of them were in, she knew she had to keep them both as calm as possible. Not that it was easy. Hearing her stammer and practically feeling her teeth chattering, Dixie lifted her head and tried to make out Kathy's words, but frowned wondering if she was hearing things. Why was she asking about Julia? Then though, things clicked and Dixie let out a mournful sigh. She'd faced death enough to understand this concept. Given how Kathy had been unconscious on the ice, possibly longer under the water..it all made sense. She took comfort knowing though Julia and Jim and Linda were easily the reason she was holding her little girl right now. "Well, if I know your Aunt Julia, right now she's doing her job and keeping you safe.", Dixie smiled softly, as Kathy turned to lock eyes with her. But right away her smile faded at the blank expression, confused frown. The worst of it was seeing her eyes, the twinkle she'd grown used to had disappeared, any spark or recognition was barely there. Trying not to panic, blaming it on the disorientation, exhaustion, she fought to take a deep breath and managed a weak smile. "It's okay though Kathy. E..Everything's gonna be fine. I..I promise, sweetheart.", she assured, pulling her into her arms and rubbing slow circles on her back. "I promise."

"I'm getting tired..."
Marissa whispered to no one inperticular as she feels her eye lids getting heavy. Deep down she knew if they didn't find shelter soon they were all going to freeze to death. And that was something she didnt want any of her friends or her family to endure. Marissa soon slowly opens her eyes and looks over towards AJ before she slowly pushes herself up to her feet trying her best to avoid the weakness in her legs and the pain that is wracking her body. She takes a deep breath before she begins to speak after clearing her throat.
"Everyone we need to find shelter, its already starting to snow and we dont need to be caught out in a big snow storm. Has anyone seen a cave or anything like that, that we could use for shelter."
Marissa places one hand on her injured arm hoping to atleast hold it in place since Frankie hasn't had a chance to properly check it. She makes her way over towards Dixie and kneels down beside her. She removes her hand from her injuried arm and slips her uninjured arm around her as she begins to speak.
"I know Kathy will be alright Dix, but we all need to get warm... I brought a emergency kit with me its in my coat.. I have matches and everything in there that we can use. The question is does everyone will like moving so we can get to safety so we can wait for help. I know JR heard everything and I know he isn't going to stop until he finds us..."
Marissa says those words as she lays her head gently against Dixie's shoulder. She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes for a moment. She was getting even more tired by the minute and if they all didnt warm up soon, they would be hauling nothing more then frozen bodies back to Pine Valley...

Kathy heard what her mom was telling her about Julia and she tried to nod, that she understood that her Aunt was at the hospital doing her job. That’s where her Aunt worked right? She thought so, she remembered being at the hospital a few times when Julia was at work. But it still didn’t explain why she wasn’t here with her, or why she couldn’t remember what had happened. Everything was too painful for her to even try to focus, so instead she kept looking up at the blonde lady, listening to her reassuring words.
“I... I w-want A-Aunt Jul-Julia,” she sniffled weakly, voice still trembling, teeth still chattering, as her moms hug grew a little more snug. She felt herself getting dizzy again and her vision swam in and out of focus, her whole body felt like ice even with the warmth of the jacket her mom had given her. The circles on her back were soothing and she took comfort in that for a moment until a voice spoke in the distance and she couldn’t make out what they were saying. Who was talking? As Marissa arrived, Kathy closed her eyes, hearing the strangers voice closer than before and again with reassuring words.
“M-My h-head... h-hurts,” she moaned, bringing up a shaky hand to touch the blood soaked scarf Dixie was pressing against her to stem the blood flow. She dropped her hand back down and moaned again, wanting to get out of the cold.

After waiting and praying for what felt like forever, to Frankie's relief he watched as Madison regained consciousness. Immediately Adrian asked if she was alright. Unlike Frankie he didn't have a sob caught in his throat. "Here man l..let her wear this. I..I'm better." Adrian offered. Luckily the parka he'd worn had been on the bigger side. It would be a snug fit for Madison but at least it would be a warmer one. "Thanks man I owe ya."
Out of the corner of his eye he noticed Jamie had managed to revive Di. Between the two of them and Adrian they got both women off the solid ice and over towards where the rest of the group was gathered. Setting Madison down, he watched as she struggled to open her eyes. Immediately tears filled his and he didn't care about the cold or the water or any pain he was in. She and the fact she was still breathing was all that mattered. "Mads...baby? Madison it's me..it's Frankie. Can you hear me?", he asked, stroking her hair. Finally he saw her eyes start to focus on him, but he had to hear her speak. "It's okay babe I'm here. There was an accident but everything's gonna be alright. I promise. Just try and s..say something Mads, just..say anything.", he begged, vaguely hearing Marissa in the background but focused on the woman he loved and his need to hear her speak.
In the meantime Di, having been revived and bundled in Jamie's extra coat, was chilled and out of it but insisted on being close to her loved ones. Luckily A.J caught wind of this, and after giving his great-aunt his hat to keep her warm, stayed put with her and kept telling her corny jokes. Not wanting her to go to sleep and not be able to wake up. Hearing Marissa ask about the cave, he relayed the message to Di. "Aunt Di is there a cave or someplace near here?" Thinking a bit, Di remembered seeing one not too far from where she'd found Colby. "Uh..t..talk to Colby and, and Jamie, A.J. I..I think there, there was one near where I..I found them.", she answered weakly and watched as A.J passed her message on to his mother. Di was too tired to remember specific details but hoped Colby or Jamie could assist Marissa and the others, in finding some kind of shelter for them all tonight.

When Dixie heard Kathy cry out for Julia, sighing she held her closer, continuously rubbing her back to keep her calm. It made sense she was asking for her aunt given the circumstances, but at the same time it left Dixie confused, even hurting. Why was her daughter asking for another woman when she was here holding her? It left her concerned but she took a few deep breaths trying to push stressful things out of her mind. All she could do was keep calm for her little girl and pray that help would be here soon. Once they got out of this hellhole, were treated at PVH and got home, things would be fine again. She hoped. But when Kathy whimpered and moved her hand to her head, Dixie felt on the verge of tears too. "Shhh, shh I know it does, baby. I know. But you gotta try and stay still for me, alright? Just relax now..it's okay." she soothed, guiding Kathy's hand away from the wound. Adjusting the scarf hoping adding pressure would stop the bleeding, she tried to come up with a way to distract Kathy. Keep her mind off things as best she could til they could be helped.
Then Marissa started to speak and after mentioning the first aid kit leaned on her shoulder. As much as Dixie wished they could just sit back and sleep they couldn't. They had to come up with a plan. "Hey Marissa..d don't nod off on me now, c'mon.", she demanded. "Here, if you take Kathy for a minute I can grab that kit. Just, here.."
Reaching for Marissa's coat, Dixie grabbed the kit and got her daughter situated comfortably against the younger woman. Opening the kit to Dixie's relief she found various first aid supplies in addition to the matches.
"Okay don't worry sunshine, we'll get that headache cleared up yet..just don't doze off on me now, okay?", she said, grabbing a bottle of children's chewable aspirin from the kit and after retrieved two pills to put in Kathy's mouth. "Here babe, just chew and swallow these, they'll help I promise."
While Kathy took the pills Dixie went to work on treating the cut on her forehead. In the meantime though to distract her from any stinging from the antiseptic, she handed her her star and moon necklace that by some miracle, only came off once they pulled her onto the ice. Her bracelet was remarkably intact too. "Look what I found though..see? Not a scratch on it. And, in just a second, there won't be one scratch on your perfect head either.", she promised just before she finished treating the cut.

Kathy allowed her hand to be guided away from the wound on her forehead, listening to her mom talk about staying still and trying to relax. She tried, but it was hard when she couldn’t stop trembling from the cold and her head was aching. The pressure from the scarf hurt a little but she tried to ignore it, concentrating on the new person who’d arrived and was talking to Dixie. There was a bit of shifting and Kathy found herself leaning up against Marissa.
“It’s h-hard t-to stay a-awake,” she told her, shivering as a wind began to whip up against them. “B-But o-okay, I-I can.” She felt the aspirin in her mouth and started chewing the tablets down before and swallowing them. “A-Are they going to h-help my h-head get b-better?” She closed her eyes for a second, opening them only when she felt her wound being taken care of and winced, beginning to tear up at the sting of the antiseptic being used. She wanted it to stop, but knew it had to be done for her to get better.
Something cold was placed in her little hands and she looked down at the star and moon necklace, staring intently at it. She couldn’t place what it was at first and as she held it up between her fingers she didn’t quite know what to make of it. She didn’t remember having one before and she couldn’t understand why she was given it if it wasn’t hers.
“Is... is it y-yours?” she asked slowly, looking up at Dixie and wincing as the last bit of antiseptic was applied. Reaching up she put the necklace back in her moms hand and took in a shaky breath, her eyes getting droopy as the cold wind blew heavier.

OOC: sorry all, last week was nuts for me with work! I am back though! Jamie knew Marissa was right, they all had to find shelter and they had to find it quick. If a snow storm was coming they had no chance of surviving. "Marissa I know you're tired but I need you to just stay with me a little longer hun. I need yours and Mom's help getting Colby, Kathy and everyone else to safety. Don't give up now Marissa, do it for AJ and JR!"
He says that as he sees her eyes droop shut a bit. With Colby not able to walk and Kathy completely out of it, he couldn't do it all on his own. "Colby we are going to do our best to get you up into my arms without you getting hurt anymore than you already are. Just take it easy and don't over exert yourself alright?"[/color]

Colby turned to look at Jamie when he began to speak. She reached up and brushed a stray piece of her blonde hair that had gotten in her face out of it and smiled weakly at the handsome doctor. “Okay, Jamie, I will be sure not to,” she replied, trying not to cringe as she attempted to stand.
It was not an easy task, but she made it work, hopping around a bit without the use of crutches. “Am I going to make it, Dr. Martin?” Colby asked, the lame attempt at a joke meant to lighten the mood, but she knew it wouldn’t work, not with the way everyone was feeling right now.

"Good girl, t...that's my girl..", Dixie said, fighting to keep a smile on her face and not wince. The cold air was making the pain in her chest even more unbearable and she was starting to get scared. It was exhausting for her to breathe, even move at times. And if it was her heart acting up how she was gonna get through this night til help arrived, she wasn't entirely sure. The only thing keeping her from breaking down completely was Kathy. "Yeah baby, t..they won't do a thing but help, I promise." Watching Kathy stare at the necklace, Dixie's smile faded into a worried frown. And her words just got her more worried. "N..no Kathy..it's not..", she trailed off, taking the necklace back looking stunned. But shook it off with the thought that Kathy was shaking from the cold. She remembered dealing with a hypothermia patient at the hospital and a shaken up family, who wondered why their son had such a hazy memory all of a sudden. The cold did strange things to people and given everything Kathy had been through and the late hour, Dixie decided to chalk it up to all those factors. Right now she should be grateful her baby was still breathing. The rest she'd have to take in stride for now. "I...it's okay though, baby. C'mere." Holding Kathy close she looked and noticed Jamie trying to get Colby to her feet and helping her to walk. She also noticed Frankie lifting Madison and A.J helping Di over towards where they were." "Hey Dix.", she smiled weakly. It wasn't much but did a lot to reassure her sister, who immediately pulled her into a fierce hug. "God are you okay, pl..please tell me you're okay." "I'll..I'll be okay Dix. I..I've been through this once before. Besides I..I wasn't in the water t..that l..long." Di said dismissively. She had been in the water a long time but wasn't going to let her discomfort show. She could walk, that was enough. "Honey I don't." "Look, we don't have t...time to argue. Can you walk?" "Well, I..", gulping Dixie looked at her swollen knee and sighed. "I..I can manage. But..I can't carry.." "It's okay..I..I got her." Going over to Kathy, Di gave her the hat that A.J had given her and slipped it on the girl's head. "Hey kiddo..look we're gonna get you somewhere warmer, okay? C..C'mon." Scooping Kathy up with her good shoulder, Di helped Dixie stand and got her a branch to double as a crutch. Looking around she made sure everyone was accounted for. A.J was with Marissa, Lily was near Colby and Jamie, Frankie was with Adrian and Madison, and she was with her sister and niece. It looked like everyone could move or at least had support, now all they had to do was move quickly find shelter. And hopefully soon, the snow seemed to be falling even heavier now.
